So how does negotiation work? Are you just going to have to pay window sticker and let them tack on all their dealer charges?

You could do that or tell them up front what you are willing or not willing to pay. If they are truly interested in a sale from someone and their future business they will work with you.

The salesperson could write some thing to the effect of "MSRP" or "Invoice + $XXX" on the Purchase Order. If you feel employee or supplier pricing will be available when your order comes in try "Program Pricing if available" or words to that effect.

So is getting one of these 1-3% under Invoice out of the question? I thought that was the norm for a good deal when buying cars. MSRP or Window Sticker is usually a rip-off generally speaking.

Heck...just getting MSRP on one of these new generation sports cars when you are an early adopter can be considered a good deal.

Otherwise most guys getting them for cheaper are doing it through discounts (Credit Union, Supplier, Military, etc.) or you could just have a good dealer that is willing to work on price to make the sale.

I don't think this car will cause the uproar that the 2010 model did in 2009, but there will still be dealers out there asking MSRP or over MSRP.

3% below invoice is close to Employee Pricing, so it is certain that more than a few will do it.

I have on numerous occasions on many different boards posted early adopter orders for a Cruze or a Malibu would be no more than 300 units and no one, in a position to actually know or just wanting to be contradictory, has told me I am wrong.

I will be surprised if the Camaro Gen6 draws less than 3,000.

Dealer already told me 5k premium on the first couple they get in stock, and that's why i switched dealers.

What has been reported by GM so far is that the prices will be very close to current prices from the 2015 models. I would guess that after a few months of production, later on in the 2016 model year, prices will increase. GM is known for doing that, so the new model comes in about the same as the outgoing gen/model, then increases the prices later on in the model year.

Anyone know when they will be able to order on Chevy's website? Where you can actually see everything. That's what I'm waiting for before ordering one. And OP, you didn't order cooled seats, or did I just miss it? How does trade ins work? They give you so much for your car, and it goes almost as a down payment towards your new one? I still owe about $10k on my car.

But unless I missed it somewhere, I don't think GM has officially said anything about pricing. You may have heard that from someone, or read it somewhere, or maybe your dealer told you that. But I don't recall anything official.

My dealer, by the way, their order guy guessed an increase of around 2 grand. I feel that is wrong (at least in the case of base cars...base LT and base SS) but I can see possibly somewhere around a $1000.

If GM did say somewhere that pricing would remain very close, I'd love to see it.

I believe Mark Reuss or Al O said something about pricing being close to the current gen...let me see if I can find something.
