it's functional but it looks like a total gimick knowing that cars now are fuel injected lol...

With the R/T now sporting 485hp, you know the SRT8 is going to be an absolute beast.

MotorAuthority reports- The most powerful models are those with the 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 (6.4-liter Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker). The engine makes up to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, and when hooked up with the new eight-speeder can accelerate the big coupe from 0-60 mph in the mid-4.0 second range. The quarter mile time is in the low-12 second range while the top speed is a claimed 182 mph. These models also get Brembo brakes and 20-inch aluminum wheels.

AllPar reports this: In the new Sport mode, shift times are slashed by 40%, and are moved to higher engine speeds. My old 392 would shift at 5800 rpms and I always thought there was more in the car with a higher rpm shift point I think this has to result in improved 1/4 mile times. Could this now be an 11-sec car stock?
I am with you that looks Bad A$$. 6.4 485HP and a new fast shifting automatic. cant wait to see the 2016 Camaro if it doesn't blow me away I can see getting a new Challenger in 2-3 years after the initial bugs are run out and the dealers stop over charging for 6.4 scat pack cars.

Modern engines breathe from the front of the engine as apposed to the old school cars that breathe on top. To accommodate the shaker look with modern engines, if you look closely at the back of the air box you can see a tube flowing from the shaker to the back of the air box. It is functional.

Agreed. This is a great update. I think Dodge hit it out of the park.

I'm not sure how I feel about the front end on the Charger yet. I don't hate it or strongly like it, I just need to see it in person first. Would be sweet with halos lol

The current 392 Hemi's are already do a mid 4 sec 0-60 time. Curious to see the 2 new SRT packages.

Wonder if that 8 speed auto and cylinder deactivation will keep it just out of the Gas Guzzler tax range.

Ill say no. It will most likely be $1000 as the current SRT8s are.

I of course love it lol. i didn't think they could actually make it look better, but they did. i never had a problem with the previous interior, even after driving them (and the Camaro Mustang), but think I may after seeing this. the suspension also has some decent tweaks and shares no more with the old Mercedes E class, yay! 8 speed auto should be a huge improvement too, and 6.4 in an R/T model? YES PLEASE!
