I have four cars and they are all 6spd manuals. Two dd’s and two fun cars - all 6spd manuals. No love for automatics. Wife has a slush box Mercedes SUV.

Pretty sure the Camaro is the last car Chev offered with a three pedal. Rarity does not always equal desirable, but in this case it will IMO.

Wouldn't surprise me if in the future the manuals vastly outperform the autos in price. Not only fewer produced, but I think it also has to do with the nostalgia factor. Even if an EV is twice as fast as my car, the ability to run through the gears is non existent and so that is one appliance I won't be shopping for.

Manual shift Camaros
Maybe 10% (or less) of the most recent Camaros were manuals. I would think the fact that there are so few would mean they hold their value better than the automatics. Manuals on any vehicles are a fast dying breed. Any thoughts?

If you look on any of the several gen 6 Facebook forums the ratio of A10 to 6M's being posted for sale is probably 5-1. Whether or not that means they built more A10's can't be sure, but it seems like that and the 6M's generally have a higher average asking price. Like stated think in time it will be apparent that three pedal anything will be more desirable than auto, not to the masses but to the purists. The the two biggest arguments for auto i hear are "it's faster" , or " i got my hip replaced and can drive stick anymore". Beyond that,it's a personal preference.

In 2024 they built 10,047 automatic Camaros and 2126 manuals across all trims. Your 5-1 is pretty much bang on. |

However, of course it really comes down to are there more M6 buyers chasing whatever of that smaller 20% manuals are being sold vs how many A10 buyers are chasing the larger 80% of automatics being sold. And as manuals get rarer, so probably will the number of manual buyers - especially as EVs become more common fewer young drivers will ever even experience a manual. And of course does resale value really matter that much to this audience? - *except* for bragging rights of course! Why would you sell when there is no new Camaro to buy/upgrade into unless you are buying another used one (and I'm glad they are still making the Mustang GT but I wouldn't trade my LT1 even straight up for 2024 Dark Horse) - so I'm planning to try to hold onto my Camaro as long as I can!

That only tells part of the story. Among what I'll call the 'sportier' models the manual take rate is much higher. If you look at ZL1 coupe (I'm referencing the '23 data), it's 35%. If you look at 2SS 1LE coupe the manual take rate is 43%, and for the 1SS 1LE coupe it's 49%!!

I suspect those numbers were elevated in the later years. When I bought my 2018, M6 models were very few and far between. Fortunately I found one that was exactly configured as I wanted it. The last couple of years it seems many more were showing up on the lots.

Fair point, but this is where the fun of statistics come into play. Out of the 10xxx Camaros produced in a given year, a very, very small portion are 1LEs or ZL1 coupes. Of that small percentage, not surprised to see higher % of 6MTs, but still, a small population relative to the entire camaro production #s. I know you were referring to MY23, but I think MY24 skewed even more towards the A10 even in v8 model camaros.

Definitely going to be interesting to see how the prices will be determined, manual vs auto. My 2011 2SS was a manual, had to be. After 8 years of owning it, my hand was forced to let it go, I didn't want a new car note at the time, so purposefully purchased a V6 Auto 2LT. I wasn't in the market for a new V8 car note, and figured a V6 auto would sell easier on the flip side than a manual.
And boy was I right, owned that for 4 years, and got exactly to the dollar what I paid for it brand new 4 years earlier. My 2023 2SS Convertible is a manual, a) because I love driving a manual, and b) it's a convertible, so I figured the manual might be an additional theft deterrent! The thing I don't like as much is the electronic parking brake, I really miss the hand brake that was in my 2011.

Plus some of the late model 6M 1LE's and LT1's got the PBC hand built motors dedicated for the C7 installed, none went in autos. My 23 2SS1LE has one.
