Z-28
Have a 2015 Gen 5 Z-28 and love it. I use it primarily for the track (4200 miles). I, too, would like to get away for the CC brakes.
I am waiting for the new Z-28. In the meantime I will goose up the current car and enjoy. The more raw the new Z-28, the better, and besides, I want an NA motor, and it will likely be 200# lighter than the ZL1. Big issue for me. I have recently been on the track with a ZL1 1LE and think it is a great platform. I cannot get enthused with a supercharged engine with 11 coolers, though.

I have the best of both worlds, a track beast, a straight line beast, and a car with an amazing interior. I could care less about an N/A engine or save a few extra pounds personally. To be fair you seem like more of a track oriented guy, so I see where your coming from. Nice Z/28 btw!

But maybe one has to be at least a certain age to really understand how having "all the bells and whistles" and the additional complexities and compromises associated with forced induction can be seen as negatives. Norm

ZL1 for me. I don’t track and never intend to again. It’s for adrenaline. I’m saving mine for a rainy day. I used to fly airplanes upside down and flip them around. Used up a lot of adrenaline.
I guess I don’t even get why GM would consider such a track focused car as the last Z28. From a financial perspective, I can only imagine it was a loss all the way around. I think it cool that they did make the last Z28, but I just don’t see it happening again. I’m guessing the Z28 brand will morph into a high performance street focused car again. Maybe replacing the ZL1 brand. The Z28 brand has much more continuity and brand recognition to the Camaro line than ZL1. After all, the ZL1 branding on the Camaro is a recent thing with the Gen5 being the first official branding.
