A member here that had the typical "poly" 1LE style wing that you see for sale pretty cheap said his was flimsy and flexed at speed. He was taking it off and going back stock and discouraged me from getting one of the poly wings...he recommended fiberglass as did the gentleman that I spoke to at C7Carbon several months ago......picking it up tomorrow so I'll post pics.....

1LE Style Wing
Alright folks.....came in a HUGE box, packaged and wrapped securely including spray expanding foam, great packing job for sure. Came via ESTES trucking.
Keep in mind this is NOT one of those poly wings, this is fiberglass, THIS is what is used as a base for all the "carbon fiber" wings out there (it's just a layer of cf on the fiberglass), none of them are all c/f Disappointed at the way the winglets are attached, better than sticky tape for sure, but..... Jesus.....the hardware is huge! This wing requires not just paint but some finish work also! At the present time I am going to consider selling it..... :-( |

Maybe if you use black screws and once it is painted, it might all blend away. How is the fitment on the car?
It might be better than the alternative of spending 4.5K on the OEM one. Wondering if those wings could be glued on with eboxy or some other super strong adhesive. |

I was thinking some kind of torx or allen head fastener, black in color....but the head would stick out further than that phillips head does......

that tells me that they probably lost his order!
Are you happy with it, Anukula? Tell us about the product, your opinion of fit and finish and some pics, please! |

So off I went to the local custom hot rod shop.....their suggestion was to make it all one piece, they would blend all of the pieces in alleviating all the screws, saying there are epoxies and adhesives out now that are stronger than metal . Awaiting their estimate.

FireCaptain,
Make sure it fits on the car, before you do anything with it. Not sure, why the manufacturer didn't do the same thing, would have cost them minimal. Keep us informed, curious minds want to know!! BTW, just got of the phone with a dealership parts department and the strike has really put a damper on dealership's ability to get parts in a timely manner. I am 16 days into a parts order and most likely it wont be until the new year, before GM gets caught up with their backlog. So I guess you might get done with your build before I do. |

It fits.....but they want the car or the deck lid if they do it with with everything molded together as one.

Well that is strange. Don't see any reason for them to "mold" it to the trunk.
