Ive been playing that clip on repeat lol. I hear alot of aftermarket exhaust and they sound tinny/raspy, whereas this set up is that perfect deep rumble. Zach speced out the entire exhaust set up and he killed it. Definitely has a good ear. Says he likes it so much, he may even copy the set up on my car ha.

Ive gotta take a second and share my experience at Katech. Made the trip from NC to MI to meet Zach and others at the shop and it was nothing short of incredible. I knew they build cars of course, but thats just a small part of it. The amount of R&D and engineering that goes on there is tremendous. Everything they do is in house which is exactly why I sent my car there. Hell I even thought they sent programs to a 3rd party to build parts like their oil pumps, thermostats, etc etc. Nope, all done within Katech walls. Think about that and then think about how many other shops/programs use their parts. Its phenomenal.
I even got to meet the guy who built my engine! Same guy who built the street attack 427 in the older famous (to me at least lol) video back in ~2017, so that was super cool. Finally the car. I didnt know what to expect. This is my first build, so I was worried I sent it a little too hard with the 427. I could not have been more wrong. I thought id have to recalibrate my brain to learn how to drive it with the 427 and the lightweight flywheel and all the other things we had done. It drives damn near like stock and everything mechanically is just so smooth and quick and light. Lame as it sounds, it felt like was “dancing” in an awesome way ha. Zach kept telling me it would be perfect, and now I know it really is perfect. Low end drivability is awesome and the hurst short throw is a dream. Short and notchy in the best ways. That tune is just spot on. I could go on and on about it, even just driving it for 30ish minutes. But it fell nothing short of meeting expectations, even when I didnt know what to expect myself. Its everything I could have ever dreamed of. Last edited by Judy1le; 05-18-2023 at 02:16 PM. |

Amazing build! I'm a big fan of Katech as I grew up not too far from them. There is a reason why GM trusts them with the Corvette race engines and other projects.
You could put some 427 emblems on the hood, that car has certainly earned them! Love the color.... |
