Well, after a long tour of the US, the day has finally arrived and I couldn't be happier. Huge thanks to Joe for all your support throughout this process. Your commitment to support this community and go above & beyond for as long as you have is just incredible.

Driving the S4 to the dealership I was still half-questioning if I'm doing the right thing as I've genuinely loved that car, but one turn of the key (ok push of the button!) was all it took to reassure me I'm going to love this car! Many many thanks to all those who've been part of my journey, and of course it doesn't end here...

I put an order on March 3rd and it had an initial status of 1100. I understand I have to wait until it reaches 2000+ before the order is actually accepted and is to be built. How long should I wait before I start badgering my dealer (or here) to see what the current status is? My order # is BKRNQ0

Start by going to chevrolet.com and using the chat feature. It's automated. Once you get past it telling you to type "Hi" and maybe your name, then enter "order status". It will ask for the vin or order number. Enter your 6 digit order number.

1100 status will say:"Your order has been submitted by your dealer but has not officially been accepted by GM at this time."

2000 status will say:"Your vehicle order has been accepted by General Motors and is moving toward the production process."

If you're still at 1100, badger your dealer for their allocation forecast because you've only got about 3 weeks left for orders to get picked up for 2022 model year. If they can't assure you of an allocation, start e-mailing sales managers (not sales people) at multiple higher volume dealers in your area asking if they project to have an allocation in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the info, and yeah unfortunately it shows my order is still at 1100. I've contacted my dealer and I'm awaiting for a response, but I have my doubts on their availability. In case they don't have allocations available, how can I determine who the "highest volume" dealer is in my area? Is there some listing I could look up? I don't even mind flying out to another dealership to pick up the car if that's what it takes.
