Hey Joe, I just want to say thanks for all the updates. Mine is finally at the dealer doing PDI. I get to pick it up tomorrow, it's only been 5 1/2 months lol.

I apologize for my ignorance, but I’ve never ordered a new car from a dealer. I’d been looking for a shadow gray LT-1 for over a year. I ordered a 2022 LT-1 from my local dealer on 16 July. I sent them my build profile, they had an allocation, and placed the order (ZTDP3F). It was built the week of 23 Aug. I’ve been contacting Chevy weekly and initially it had an estimated delivery date of 19 Sep. The week after, it had no delivery date and was undergoing a quality inspection. Last week it was built with no shipping date. There are still a lot of 2021s in transit, so I figured it will be while before mine gets shipped or it’s waiting on a chip. Tonight I see it advertised for sale on the dealers website with an “in transit” status. The dealership never took a deposit from me. Is it normal for a dealer to advertise a car built for a customer? Thanks.

I know that when I called asking about several vehicles I saw on websites as 'in transit' and asked, I was told that there was already a deal in place on them and they weren't actually available. I never asked further about deposits or whatever. Might be worth a call to your dealer in the morning just for peace of mind, and if you're willing to put a deposit down a little early for it, then offer that to secure your place. Your name SHOULD be on the order, though I don't know if that guarantees they will sell it to you. Good luck!

All dealers use an outside vendor to maintain their website.
Depending on the dealer -
parameters of listing - will determine - vehicles that are listed.
Some list - All vehicles - some only list non-sold.
