Motor trend just filmed a head to head with the new Camaro SS against the M4 and a Mustang GT with PP. I'm assuming that Ford would not give them a GT350 for comparison because it knows what the result would be. Similar to when they wouldn't give them a Boss for comparison to the 1LE when it was introduce to the 5th Gen. Ford knew it was faster.

I can't wait for the head to head episode to come out.

This new 1LE is special. And more people need to be talking about the eLSD. This is a huge asset to the vehicle! It's a torque vectoring rear diff!
That's asking way too much. Remember, technically the SS 1LE is the GT performance packs competition. But, with the regular SS easily beating that, many just push the SS 1LE up the food chain and compare it to the GT350, which is going to be like $7500 or so more. Then add in the track pack, and it balloons to about a $13,500 difference is the SS 1LE ends up being in the low $40's.

I think the SS 1LE will beat the base GT350, which alone would be fantastic, and would really ruffle Fords feathers. Will it beat the GT350 performance pack, I don't think that will be in the cards. It may give it a good run for the money...which when considering the cost difference, it very, very impressive.

I think the 1LE will beat the GT350TP, but just not on every track. Without long enough straights, I don't think the GT350's power difference will make up for the 1LE chassis. I also have high expectations for the newly designed GY's. They will make or break my theory.

Would love-love-love to see the 1LE beat or come within a nats fart of the Cayman GT4 on a few tracks.

Yes. Consider your day made.

The 1LE package on the SS comes with included HUD.

Awesome news. With gas prices going down, it makes sense for Chevy to throw in a V6 option. I wasn't crazy about the 4 banger to be honest.

Guys, think about this, you are down 70hp. You have only 25tq on the 350.

They weigh the same most likely. 19 inch wheels with 10 inch wide on the front and 11 inch wide on the rear.

You got more rubber less rotational mass and a high strung engine.

I've seen the graphs and stuff. But with all this considered if the 1le keeps up with the gt350 stock for stock it will be magical.

It will keep up. Lets stop spending so much time speculating though, the base GT350 doesn't even have any lap times out there, so who know what it can do? This may be due to the fact that Ford does not recommend tracking the base GT350 as it is missing the necessary cooling.

You seem content on discussing the 1LE v GT350 and there is a Vs section for that and/or you can create your own thread here about that so we can keep this one on track.

I'm curious to see how the SS 1LE stacks up to the Stingray Z51. I'm betting it's gonna be pretty close now that the 1LE Camaro has the E diff and wider tires than the Vette.

Al O also said that the stabili-track stability control system in this gen 6 1LE is more advanced than the current c7 Z-51.

I read that as well.

But I think that most drivers in the advanced or instructor run groups (whose lap times are going to be the ones that count for comparisons such as this one) probably aren't going to be running with StabiliTrak on at any level of sensitivity.
