Look into tony mamo. He is the only one porting the msd right now that I've seen. He claims a lot of room for improvement. 7-8 hp. He's pricey but one of the best. Been porting everything for years. I asked how much to port the stocker and he said 525 and the manifold had to be clean in like new condition as well. Thinking I'll have pray port my stocker. He hasn't done an msd yet.

Its all good my man. I'm just gonna swing for the fences with the least of amount of mods I can. I wanted the SC but I have to retire someday and I gotta stop at some point. The mods I'll be doing will not be that costly and still produce pretty nice ets.

I have not ported a LT1 MSD yet. I have done plenty of LS MSD's though. I have a guy willing to send his in for porting but I need a stocker too. I am going to test the two against my ported stock stuff. My last H/C/Ported MSD LS7 made 627/537rw. I have another one coming together in a week or so. Should make more than the last one. I charge half what Tony charges. I bet the manifolds make the same power. You can only get so far into the intake. I can't wait till I am famous and can get $150 an hour.

Talking of crossing traps in 4th of shifting to 5th, what about a shorter tire?

Taller tires will allow you to hold to the traps, the shorter tire is going to hit the rev limiter probably bout 1200 feet.

I guess I should have said mine looses 2-3/100s when I hold it in 4th and gains 2-3 mph when held in 4th. I repeated that on all three passes I held it. Snow yours picked up so go figure

Right, but the shorter tire effectively lowers the final gear ratio, and usually shorter gears mean faster ETs. Was curious if anyone had experimented.

I'm liking the design of the MSD for higher rpm hp over the fast offerings.

Bracket numbers for sure which you don't see out of an M6 so your driving skills show how consistent a manual can be.

Fasterproms also has a full porting service and will port the MSD.

That is not that bad of a launch and 1/8th mile. Seems like you may be suffering on the top end? I would have figure your car would be in the 11's.
