Using a sealed aluminum cap without a pressure relief valve would also cause issues due to thermal expansion, with the weakest link being coolant inside the heater core probably failing first. |

Also, given the mounting location and configuration, there is no way that reservoir is going to “superheat” the coolant. Perhaps if you welded fins onto it and mounted it in contact with the headers lol… but installed like the OEM one, I’ll respectfully disagree. That reservoir is not going to have any impact on coolant temps at all.

Damn... thats getting pretty spicy! I think the aluminum one is going to be just fine. Also took the time to pull back and secure the harness below, and even tucked the heater hoses completely out of the way!

Hey team, couple of quick updates on the build...
1. The Ridetech coil overs are on now, hoping to drop the car on wheels tomorrow! Stay tuned. 2. While I was waiting on parts for another part of the car, decided to clean up some of the wiring harness, repaint the valve covers, upgraded most of the hardware to ARP 12pt to match the Ridetech coil-overs, installed the new mishimoto coolant reservoir, and tucked the heater hoses... 3. After hearing their praise from another few tuners, I finally pulled the trigger on the Fi Interchiller Spacer + Blanket package! Great fit and finish so far... Just waiting on a longer belt so I can do some testing... ![]() 4. Changed out the extra IAT sensors on my blower... hoping these work better than the RIFE sensors. 5. Not sure what else at the moment.. im exhausted, stay tuned for more!

Nice work on the wire harness and heater hoses. You know how I personally feel about that nonsense in the stock config. Now that my clutch is here, I can get around to getting the engine back in mine and doing the same kind of stuff. I'm going to have to get some pretty stuff to try to keep up though.
