I was wondering the same thing. I'm personally not a track guy, since I own the ZL1(non 1LE), but I'm smart enough to know there are still PLENTY of track folks on the forums and in the country in general. I agree it's closer to 50/50 than 99% like he was saying.

I doubt that 50% on this forum really track their Camaro and this forum does have a fair number what appear on the surface as track rats.

Once you drive on a road course with extreme competition and ferocious speeds and G's you'll be hooked forever, like I was, and it is 100 x more fun than a straight line race (in my opinion), which I have also done many times. Both are cool, though.
Try it, you'll love it!

Perfectly said

Modded ZL1 vs a stock Demon? Never understand the conversation of a stock car vs a modded car. Still apples to oranges comparison.

1 is made for taking turns quickly and 1 is made for going fast in a straight line.

But your car would have no issue with beating this 2nd gen Demon.

What about the COPO Camaro or Ford Cobra Jet? Those are pure drag vehicles from the factory. The Demon isn't a pure drag car since it is a street legal vehicle.
great point about COPO! Did you see that last beautiful orange one? I think it runs 8's!

I totally understand what you're saying, it's probably not 50% either but I think 50% is closer than the 1% that the guy was implying on his post that said 99% don't track their cars. Just my opinion

Yea, the newest one with the 632 CI is in the 8s. Purpose built drag car and I bet a lot more consistent at hitting those claimed times than the Demon. But 1 is street legal and 1 isn't.

Do you consider C7 a coupe? If both driven by same great driver back to back, equal tires, the Z06 is faster on track than the ZLE but not by much. I think the ZLE is the better overall track car for pure enjoyment, with several factors going into this.

I know the Z06 overheats like hell and I would never buy one, but it's 1-2 seconds faster per lap all things being equal.

The ZR1 is definitely not faster in a straight line than the 170, the 170 can do 0-60 under 2 seconds.

The ZR1 is GT3 RS fast on track, but despite better cooling than Z06 the ZR1s have some overheating problems too--I've seen it first hand on days that weren't even that hot. My ZLE never overheats, but I'm sure a better, faster driver could make it happen :-)
