Nice, so you decided to have them port the heads? Good choice if so! Might as well get it knocked out while it's all apart

Yeah... trust me i have everything to do it myself, except the time. I was also worried about getting the runners to match. Found a local flow bench for $200 to flow both heads, but then would have also needed to purchase a stock sized set of valves to clean up the CC, and a 90% smaller valve to open the throats... once done, figured the cost would have been the same, and would be silly to think i could do as good as the CNC file... i'll still end up cleaning them up a little when i get them back just to make myself feel better Also going to port match the blower to the instake runner... as Katech does not offer that. Stay tuned : )

Well... I am happy to announce that i received my heads back from Katech yesterday, and will be receiving the ported blower back tomorrow... As you can imagine, they look pretty nice and I even did a quick test fit of the new cast valve covers... Here are a couple photos... alot more to follow as I jump back in the project this weekend. Hoping to do the following this weekend.
1. Assemble the heads 2. Install new JRE cam + C5R Chain and LME chain guide. 3. Install and torque heads 4. Install TSP VVT delete front cover & Oil Pan I guess I might even be able to drop the motor back in if i dont waste too much time stopping to take photos Stay tuned!

Morning Team,
Had a little time last after dinner and officially started the re-assembly process. Everything went smooth. Cam went in very smooth and fit perfect (have heard of some that didn't) Katech oil pump and C5R chain fit perfect. Blue locktite on everything. Working slow and taking my time... More engine porn below... with more to follow tomorrow!

I love the fact that you went with the 3-bolt cam, the dogbone on the chain, and the Katech pump. Get rid of all the "junk" that might hold you back or fail later.
Cool to see it coming together!

Wow! Easily my favorite build on the forum. Are you getting the Katech Lightweight Flywheel installed? I hear nothing but great things about the LTW Flywheel and the response of the engine.

Thanks Rob, hard to pass those details over when the engine is out. Cheap insurance if you ask me, considering how many of us expect at or over 100HP per cylinder. JRE takes credit for the 3 bolt cam recommendation. If i had more $$$ to spend I would have gotten the Katech matching VVT and DoD covers but at the time of the parts purchase I had a fixed budget so JRE recommended the TSP line of cast covers which i went with... photos of those later
