Speaking of torque, I'm aware of what HP the stock v6 has. How much torque is there, compared to the v8?

At low rpms, maybe half, if that (sorry, don't have the charts in front of me). Somewhat more percentagewise in the upper rev range, and the LGX revs higher than the LT1/LT4.

considering its a little more than half the displacement of an LS3,that would be expected.but they do rev to 7,000 rpm which is cool...

A naturally aspirated 6 cylinder is never going to have the torque of a naturally aspirated V8. It's the old adage, "there is no replacement for displacement".

Appears it is 284 ft-lb at 5300 rpm for the V6. The LT1 is V8 455 ft-lb.

I drove a V6 6 speed for almost 5 years...i literally traded it in on a 2022 2SS yesterday that I had ordered back in February...even after one day I cannot imagine every driving a V6 again

LT1 probably makes 284 ft-lbs at just 1500 rpm.

It probably does. Maybe more. Peak torque is at 4,600 rpm.

The V8 on the other hand has an Incredible amount of it and I really liked how effortless it was to merge onto the Interstate at low rpms.
Insurance for me is not that much its like 150-170 per month.
Gas mileage I can actually now say is really impressive I am currently in Connecticut for my Dad's funeral and on the 1300 mile journey I got 29.5 mpgs as a high going 80ish the entire way. That was very impressive and yes hand calculated because the computer said I was at 30.2 so computer was a little off. The price of premium over regular imo isn't a big deal mainly because percentage jump in price in price comparison between regular and premium isn't really that much more expensive maybe 10 bucks really.

At the end of the day I am in the camp of V8 over V6. There is nothing wrong with the V6 for those that like it though.
Sorry for your loss. Safe travels.

Closer to 300 I believe.

One thing to realize is torque is largely a function of area under the curve, not peak. BMW I-6s with 330tq at the wheels at 1400rpm flat to max RPM are absolute monsters...they will stomp a N/A GM V6 due to this.
