One caveat for my comments. I will fully admit that part of my calculation is that I would ultimately buy a new motor if I had to (Don't get me wrong, I absolutely don't want to do that - my wife would be sooooo pissed!). I know not everyone here can do that. If I couldn't afford to do that then I'd probably be more inclined to not take ANY chances.

Next question, do we know of any oil pump failures that had motors with ONLY a CAI and GM denied their warranty claim because of that?

So just one more note. I read the entirety of one of the warranty claims that was denied. In that case the forum member had a Catch Can AND a CAI and the GM rep said that it was the catch can that was the issue, not the CAI.
