heck ya, I want a "mild NA Build".. what cam should I get?.. get a blower... better yet you should trade-in your ride... AFM is evil and failure is imminent, there is only one way to NA build.. any deviations we send the Spanish Inquisition in, plus it is easy when you bolt on 70 lbs for $7000 up to save weight by spending EVEN MORE money. AFM cam $429 nuff said.

Yea you are right because had I known you were going to go bat shit crazy and write novels of BS over somebody suggesting other options beside a AFM cam, I wouldn't even of posted.

OldMan I appreciate your contribution and time spent. Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner but thank you. Also, we must resist the inquisition at all costs

Guys I appreciate your responses and has shaped my conclusion considerably. While a cam would be awesome it's simply not cost effective. You guys can continue to debate it's what makes this forum awesome as I'm sure certain discussion will lead to more information being readily available. Have a great day everyone.

You do a cam on the 6th gen your looking at replacing: valvespring, lifters, pushrods, possibly rockers if you upgrade, plus the DoD delete. Then you have the gaskets, probably want to do new lifter trays while your in there. Might as well do Heads while since your replacing the valvetrain. I don't know what the stock injectors are rated too, maybe want a higher flowing fuel injector. Speaking of higher flowing, you can't just stick with the stock intake manifold, gotta let them heads breathe with the new cam. Hell you'll need a larger throttle body too. Oh Dont forget about the longtube headers so that bad boy can exhale some heat. Finally you'll need a tune, then you'll be done. $5k later.

Point is, I would save up for everything and do it all at the same time. Oh and it's expensive. Don't skimp on inferior parts, Get the quality parts or your going to be spending more money tearing into the engine once again.

My naturally aspirated build and costs is below.
Thank you for this excellent answer and cost break down of your own build. Truly appreciated. I did not know that headers were so crucial to making cams effective. Unfortunately where I live the E-Check won't allow that so I think cams are out of the question.

I’m flattered you’ve kept track. As I said here I’ve decided against any mod that makes my car not street legal. How about you big balls you get those headers yet?
