^ Thank you. Answered my question. Was looking for something easy and cheap (local sale add for 75$) to add inline after I do the catless DP, because I also do not like loud, or the tone in general.

Great! Yeah so on the short drive home I did listen for a bit, under load I hear that an actual (oem) muffler exists btw. But it is very faint absolutely zero drone. It does give as much pulse as it can. The connector pipes after the Y being a staggered fit give rise to a tuned circuit in my imagination.
This part is really a perforated 3" tube with SS wool packed in. So its the turbulence that does the work. If you rev the engine in neutral I hear the engine and the rear about equally. not a bad sound at all. Under load there's the noise floor which is low enough and not 4 bangerish at all. It's just the noise floor but not raspy or drony or howling by any stretch. At highway speed its nothing but road noise and wind. Anyways fwiw - my 2.7 ecoboost f150 definitely has the exit air of a leaf blower. lol (twin turbo). There's no real perception of exit air flow sound in that sense on the ltg. |
