I got the BMR brace, but did not like the two color options, red or hammertone black. I had it powder coated semi gloss black, and I think it looks pretty good.

Those of you running the BMR bar, any rubbing issues on the hood underside?

None at all. There is a channel on the underside of the hood to accommodate a strut tower brace.

I know this is an older thread and I have not yet put a strut tower brace on my ZLE. But I thought I'd share my experience regarding performance improvements with/without one on my previous race car. The strut towers on it were heavily tied into the cage, braced with 3 each 1.5" tubing. There was a definite benefit from a strut brace although it's extremely hard to quantify, tire temps and wear were better, more even with it. In talking to other the consensus is that under heavy braking the towers want to flex towards each other inward creating additional and excessive toe in.
I'm planning on adding one to my car, given the weight of the car, braking capability and tire size Im sure the towers are moving so it should be beneficial.
