This, plus their hearing is likely not that good either...lol...I think the OP has one griper trying to make it sound like he has backers, when he really doesn't.

Besides, any retirees would appreciate a nice car....Likely they all remember the Golden Age of cars and drag racing from the sixties...When you see your neighbors on the street, offer them a ride.

I have to bring up something alot of people overlook.

To the general car conscience crowd who enjoy hot rods and performance cars, No...The SS is not loud.

But to the average joe who outnumbers us 50 to 1, driving around a family SUV, stationwagon, 4 door Toyota or Honda, has children, elderly... ...Yes...it IS loud... its loud because its noticable and its QUITE louder than the average vehicle on startup.

What you're comparing it to is a heads and cam rough idle barely street legal machine...compared to that its tame but compared to what your average joe is accustomed to? Its definitely loud.

That said, I live in an apartment complex with a garage and I have been fortunate that most people are already gone by the time I need to start my car, and also...there are several cars in this complex louder than mine. If I were in a quiet residential neighborhood with an HOA though, I would worry a bit. HOA's are nothing to mess with... especially if they're in control of said elderly people.

Not true on # 2... On the main settings menu on your dash pull up exhaust sound and check "STEALTH MODE".... It WILL be quiet on start up.

Yeah that's what I do before I shut it down every night. Takes 5 seconds.
Maybe if I was younger and renting I wouldn't care, but I own and plan on living here for a long time so I'd like to get along with my neighbors.

deliver this letter to all your neighbors, problem solved.

Dear Neighbor,
I'm giving out free rides to all my neighbors in my awesome Camaro 2SS.
Come see how awesome my car really is. I'm sure you'll all love it.
Free drinks available but only after the ride is over. Since I don't want anybody spilling stuff in my awesome Camaro 2SS.

Love your neighbor 67rstbkt

Wow, sounds a lot like my neighborhood but I've still never gotten a nasty letter like that. Yet, nobody seems to complain that the retirees are weed eating and leaf blowing at 6 in the morning.

We already have a white trash reputation and many aftermarket exhausts sound nasty. I'd put the stock exhaust back and consider it a win in the karma department.

A lot of work typing a letter to politely complain about someone else’s life (Mustang or Dodge fan perhaps?) Haters are gonna hate. Enjoy your Camaro. Nothing wrong with being considerate, just don’t allow them to define what that is. I don’t rev mine either nor make it a point to start her up at 2am in the freakin’ morning. But if I needed too that’s my business. People make noises all the time: loud music from cars, other exhaust systems, neighbors throw parties, hell I watch movies outback on a projector & movie screen some nights. Goes with the territory. So long as you’re not being a d!ck about it, I say screw ‘em if they can’t take a joke!

No name, no return address? I'd make sure the car was LOUDER. Can't be considerate to someone who's being a passive aggressive douchebag.

Yes, you are a douchebag if you are starting the car up at 630am outside with nothing to muffle the exhaust. I'm not afraid to call an asshole an asshole.
