I'm running 285/35/19 RE71R square setup - although it's bit shorter than OEM overall diameter, it works good. (your speedo is off little bit...)
I'm very happy with RE71R's performance, but I may try RS4 this year mainly because of short life of RE71R.
For the autocross class I will be competing in I have to stay pretty close to stock sizes. I also don't want to go smaller than the stock sizes, to for my driving style. I don't think see reduction in unsprung weight will make up for the reduction and traction for me.

I would have done research into what tires are available at 305 and there's a decent selection in both summer Tires and competition tires.

Will wait and see what I decide on after I burn this first set.

I live in Columbus Ohio, and sold my 2017 wrx sti for a 2017 SS 1le. Even though Camaro has worst visibility compared to the Subaru, I had no issues with it so far.

The stock tires on 1le suck when it's cold or raining, but you'll be fine if you have winter tires.

Overall 1le is on another level compared to STi which is severely understeering with an ancient engine.

Thats where i'm from, as well. Just had my first oil change today and had to do the last 40miles this morning in the freezing rain with the stock tires. It was fun but seeing how the car can step out when ever you want. Should be fun during autox.
