This thing will be a joy to drive on track...and then you can go home without so much as changing a screw in Chevy-luxury.

That's one of the things I noticed as well. It's almost like he's just taking a cruise around the track for the most part. Just a few minor corrections here and there.

I'm sure you've watched the SVT video of a supposed last gen GT500 going around the ring. Even though you can't see what the driver is doing with the wheel, you can easily see the car almost constantly getting out of shape, so you know his hands were sawing on the wheel and his butt was likely sore from being clinched tight for so long.

Same here. I know I've watched that video several times. Even though I'm waiting on an A10, I'd also like to see footage like this of the M6. I love watching and listening to the active rev match in action! I'd love to drive a manual Z just to experience that feature alone!

Can't please some people no matter what...

It could have had 800 hp stock, ran the ring 15 seconds faster, had a 10 second drag time from the factory, gotten 35 mpg, AND cost $35,000 somehow...

...yet some moron would still bitch about it.

Yes. An amazing feat...yet more amazing was one of the magazines remarked on the car's personality. They said something to the effect that while the car has the forgiveness and technology similar to a GTR...it still had a soul. It still had character, and was rewarding/fun to drive.

And Yes. Actually somewhat similar to the ZR1 Ring video a while ago. Both vehicles had too much power and not enough car to deal with it.

It's pretty cool....when I first played with it, I sort of dismissed it...then I left it on for a while, for kicks. It's so cool.

Go find a manual SS...similar experience as the Z. Not as much hp, but that doesn't matter...it makes good noises in the SS, too.

Do you get out much? I get the troll inference. Think whatever you choose but it doesn't change the truth about the car's drag strip performance. It is what it is.

No, 9 seconds is quick. Few (no) factory ZL1's run 9's.

Probably won't own one but I'll be in the bottom 9's without it.

Good for you. After quarter is done just make sure you don't have to stop or turn too fast... May find out your choice is irrelevant when the road bends. Zl1 does everything right isn't a one trick pony.

You would have been better off with a clapped out fox body with a ls conversion and a Chinese turbo if that is what you're after. Some farm boy with a McDonald's paycheck would take your lunch money and laugh at you with your shiney new 9 second tank.

That thought actually crossed my mind. Plenty of SS cars out there that dealers would let me test drive. I may just do that.

When you start a post with zl1 behind the 8 ball you get what you get. Especially if you don't own one it isn't a post for productive discourse. It's moronic

Um...no. I'm afraid shunting responsibility for your posting style to the OP because you don't like the topic and he doesn't own a car is not the way it works...

Everyone gets to post opinions, questions, thoughts, and comments here. Regardless of what they do or do not own.

Please play nice...
