Hmmm, first thing I thought it looked like a sad car with that grille giving a downface smile and the other thought it was almost comical looking like in that movie cars. Ford you did GM a big favour, watch Camaro numbers soar and watch "Stang Catfish" numbers drop. This is right up there with the Pacer or Gremlin car. Lol

Yes i have a Camaro and Mustang lol..im a rare breed
I don't think so, it's looking more and more like the base GT engine is going to get a good 20-25hp bump. The CR is going from 11:1 to 12:1, port injection to port and direction injection.

Wow. Sometimes I need to stew on a new design, or see it in person. But I can already tell, I'm never going to think that front end looks good. It is a mismatch of styles. The top half is old school Mustang mixed with Astin Martin, the bottom half is trying too hard to catch up to other brands, and looks like a cheap copy of a Lexus. The old front end was a bit too corporate (too much like the Focus), but at least it looked good. This looks really bad.

And the back? I never liked the back of the mustang to begin with (I hate that the area between the tail lights is black no matter what color you get, it looks like cheap plastic). But put an ugly wing on it? Wow!!

And it looks like they are putting some MPSS's on it. Desperate attempt to get better in the twisties to compete with the Camaro, but sticky tires won't make it feel like it has a chassis that can compete with the Alpha. But available Magnetic Ride Control will help a lot, and I think that will be the case.

I said torque...400 now is not enough and its not gonna go up to 455, i mean even the gt350 only has 429. I take turns driving both. The first thing i always notice when I drive my gt is the lack of low end grunt compared to my ss

It won't matter, that is the point of having a close ratio transmission with higher numerical gearing. This is why the 6 speed GT has one overdrive while the SS has 2. If the GT gets the new 10 speed auto, the scales very well might be tipped towards the GT.

A 25hp bump would put the 1/4 ET damn close to the camaro.

Good god. Glad I didn't wait around for it. Was on the fence between that or a 2017 Camaro. Looks like I made the right call

I have zero desire for an automatic. Hence why I was talking about the tremec and mt82.. u cant even get an automatic performance pack. There's alot more then just drag racing.

And unless it gets over 450 lb ft it will definitely matter. The car is lacking a lot down low. I drive both multiple times a week, I pick up on all the differences believe me.

25 hp wont turn a 13.0 average (manual gt) into a 12.4 average (manual ss ) car...25 hp doesn't equal a half a second in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah, I had a 2014 5.0 with Lund tune, exhaust/CAI. The torque differences is insane especially from 2-3.5k rpm. The Coyote did have a good top end to make up for it but so does the SS w/ power everywhere to redline. If I had done E85 with headers, it will probably edge out a stock SS.

I wish I would have kept the 5.0 to daily drive on.. Love the rear tailights of the 13-14 the most of all gens. The front of the S550 have nice lines and flows really well. Can't believe they screwed it up for the refresh lol

I had a 13 gt, was stolen and i got the 15 gt. Got the 17 Camaro ss like six months ago. I drive the gt mon-wed Camaro thu-fri. Rotate weekends...Camaro has been to ny and back to cali too. Average 27 mpg over that big trip. Mustang year before was 24 mpg

Still not half as shocking as a hybrid 2020 option.
