Page 205 is about driving conditions.....Page 216-217 talks about it but it does not apply to the ZL1. Which it doesn't state but is a fact.

Al O said neither ZL1 transmission options have AFM.

From what I've read and seen, the AFM hardware is all there, but it's not active in the tune. If I recall correctly, ALL LT4s (including Y-bodies) get AFM hardware except manual cars (LT5s don't get any of it in any tranny variation). I heard you can't really active it in the tune either. Mine isn't/wasn't active.

No AFM on the ZL1, you would know it in the exhaust tone if it had it. Its noticeable on the C8 Corvette and the Durango SRT that we have.

The Zl1 ‘s all Automatic’s have the AFM valves .
The standards do not .

I'm fairly certain M6 ZL1s have the hardware. It wouldn't make sense why GM would specifically not put it on the M6 but put it on the A10 cars. If they did, then why not just get rid of it for the A10?

Every LT4 has this, regardless of transmission. The ZL1 just doesn't have the software to turn it on.

That's the logic.

I've seen post's with M6 ZL1's having to remove the hardware when modding their cars.

What are we talking about here...the AFM lifters in the LT4 or the actual valves in the exhaust.

Ive only had my ZL1/A10 for a few months but I'd swear that none of this AFM is going on with my car.

The valves in the exhaust is part of the NPP system (dual mode exhaust that's standard on all ZL1's) which we are not talking about at all. It has nothing to do with the AFM. They just make the car loud or quiet.

The 6th gen ZL1 does not have AFM active, the hardware is installed but the software to control it is not active. No matter the year, coupe or convertible, A10 or M6, with or without the 1LE package.

The LT1,LT2,LT4,L83,L86,L87 engines have AFM cam/lifters/hardware internally. The LT5 and L8T engines do not have AFM internals.

All ZL1 LT4 engines have AFM/DOD turned off in the ECM.

The A10 and M6 both do not have AFM exhaust valves. They do have NPP exhaust valves.

Some 6th gen automatic models have both afm and npp exhaust valves but not ZL1's.
