I ordered the oiled filter because RF claimed more hp from it. And I wanted the dry in the first place.

Not a huge difference but kind of annoyed

Don't think so jannetty racing clearly said on the post oiled is better for day-to-day driving and dry is better for racing and the track..more hp

Exactly. Like I said I wanted the filter that made more hp. RF told me oiled made a couple more hp. I could even dig up the thread

Not sure how oiled would be better for daily. It likely filters worse than dry. Most oiled do. That's how they get more flow

Its better for day to day because it filters more, not making more power...

That's surprising compared to oiled filters in the past. I'd have to see them tested side by side to believe it.

Not dissing rotofab they are great. I was just a bit annoyed when I seen the results

Why would that be? Generally curious, I know a lot of FI guys don't, unless I'm missing something? (I am assuming the cam I get would have the lash cap and fuel lobe upgrade)

I thought you guys would like to see the nice work Ted and his crew did on my car.

I was not a big fan of the look of the MSD but I think with the custom JRE side cover brackets I think this is good look. Maybe not for a car show, but it looks racy to me. Also I will say I would not want the LTs and pipes on this car without NPP. With NPP flaps open it is LOUD wide open and has a deep idle. There is no highway drone and you can just hear the exhaust while cruising in any mode. I will be cruising with the wife in snow and ice mode. This is exactly what I wanted. Loud for the track and mild at home. The only drawback is the loud initial startup.

i could be wrong but you might want to ask around. my understanding is the stock fuel system probably wont go over 500rwhp on e85 and i thought the low side was the first to run out.

Looks great.

Did you end up staying with the 2 inch? I though you planned on a cam in the future and they might work better. The difference when stock to a 1 7/8 is pretty small. I was surprised the 2 inch did not make more peak like it did on the ls3.

Correct ZERO Hp gain by changing out the filter in the stock box.

If you look at the paper filter it must be 15 ft long when stretched out.

More surface area than we have ever seen from a factory filter.

GM pulled out all the stops.

Ted.

Since I plan on doing a cam (and doing HPDE events), looks like I'll be doing a dry filter and 2in LTs.

The other day Tony Mamo popped up on corvetteforum saying he'll be offering ported MSD IMs and ported TBs too - For those all motor dudes who want to get every last bit of it.

I plan on the following...
Dry roto fab
ported MSD
ported upgraded tb
TSP VVT3 Cam
2in LTs (either SW or CPR - if they're making em yet)
3in catless x-pipe
undecided on NPP vs 3in cat-back yet
Flex Fuel kit+E85
Tune

I'm hoping that setup will net in the 500-550whp range... we'll see if that is possible, but I'm optimistic.
We also offer ported TB but could not get our hands on one for this round of testing.

I see no problem in reaching 540 RWHP on E-85 with this list of parts.

Let me know If I can be of assistance.

Ted.

I'm looking forward to the same testing when you get a 17 ZL1.
Yes the stock box is that good.

Diameter of the MAF housing is not an issue we have tested larger housings and seen a loss in power.

Thank you.

Ted.

I guess cat backs are mostly for sound , I have the NPP if that makes any difference...
Again thanks for taking the time to collect data...
Your welcome, I do this to cut through the bull that gets tossed around so my customers and friends can make educated decisions when purchasing parts to reach their goals.

I get pretty upset when I see wild claims just to sell a products case in point.

SCT is my go to Remote tuning solution so they need not fluff it up to sell it, it sells on it's own merits.

We did test a Ported TB on a Stock car and gained nothing but throttle response no different than the Gen5 cars.

Stick with the NPP best of both worlds and NO DRONE.

Please keep us in mind when you are ready to mod.

We offer Plug and play power packages that included custom tuning.

Ted.
