The problem with this discussion is that people saying "never go WOT" are NOT following GM's recommendation.

The break in instructions for the LT1 engine are very clear, they say it needs WOT to 4000rpm, the Camaro specific instructions also say "no WOT from a stop" - that does not mean "no WOT at all for 1500 miles".

The people saying to baby the car for the entire first 1500 are the ones not following the GM recommended break in.
