about the catch can, I turn my attention the the Roto-Fab CAI. I got the sound tube delete model. Watched the video by Hyper1SS on how to remove the tube. If possible I would like to leave the tube in place (for now anyway because I really don't care about cleaning up the engine bay). So if I need warranty repairs I won't have that much to do to return to stock. My OCD demands I be prepared since there ARE issues with the Gen6. Bottom line question: Do you see any problem just leaving the sound tube in place, minus the fitting that goes in the elbow? Plug he end of the tube and secure it? I think it will work. Someone make my day and confirm. [/QUOTE

You can plug it and it will be fine.

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

The problem with this world is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be penalties for stupidity,
but why don't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem solve itself.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around $425+ for 10-15 hp gain? or it "looks good"

Here's a nice benefit to our sound tube delete option. I think it was mentioned earlier in this post, but the block off plate we supply for the firewall can be used to access the interior for wiring accessories. Without the block off in place, the exposed hole passes straight through to the interior. You can drill the plate and install a grommet allowing you to easily pass wiring through the firewall.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around $425+ for an alleged 10-15 hp gain.

For anyone concerned about the MAF changes when switching to our CAI...

A very knowledgeable forum member purchased our CAI and did extensive data logging over the weekend. He had this to say about the Roto-fab system:

"So I would like to say great job to Rotofab. I am very impressed with not only the construction quality of their intake I am impressed at how accurate they kept the MAF output. The variation on AFR was sub 1% across the RPM band. This was data collected in MAF only mode in the ECM which really isolates the AFR from being influenced by other variables. I did 3rd gear runs (A8) from 1500 RPMs up to redline. The stock vs RF runs were within a couple hours of each other with minimal weather variation.

On the power front I was not on a dyno today but the one area that hints at a definite improvement is the MAP. I stays about 1 kPa higher across the RPM range over the stock intake. So as of right now I do expect to see a power increase of some level on the dyno."

I stopped by a local performance shop to finalize my order to install a Maggie with SW headers to go with the already installed SW cat backs. As we were finishing up, I asked 'besides the new pulley and headers, is there anything else we'll need that I should purchase?'

His reply 'There's a company call Roto-Fab. I don't know if they have one yet for the Gen 6 but get one of their CAIs if they do' I told him I already had one with the NA tubing! Now if I can just get some tubing that will fit the SC....

The guy is very knowledgeable and extremely well thought of. I think that says a lot about Roto-Fab. He had a Shelby sitting right there in front of his desk he was doing work on.
