BTW, go fund me charges 8% for each donation, 5% fee plus 3% processing/handling...

So, we should add that to the rental fee if we go that route...

if it happens, we will probably do two instructed groups like NVR2L8 suggested. if we did that, we would have to split the groups up kinda even but could make sure all the 6 bangers were in the same group. we would have to keep it as simple as possible but if thats what you guys wanted, your paying for the track. we wont ever make everyone happy but fun things like this would probably work out, there will be some v6 camaro owners that will be faster than novice v8 guys.
im willing to do all i can from my end but getting the cash together will be the kicker. we could maybe get 10 or 12 instructors if we contacted them now. if we wait til august we might get 6. this is just a guess. ill get all the help i can
the west track all in is under 10 grand. i like the 23 turn layout but im not in charge of anything. im just a local yokel willing to help.

Will the track not be willing to help with the money I would be willing to do 400 if full day and full track with instructor. Will they just be willing to sell spots and not make us put up money for the hole thing

im meeting with the management early next week to discuss how we would do the event. we have to do an hpde style event for that insurance coverage. i will ask him. i cant speak for them so ill just ask and report back. my guess would be that they have been burned so many times, they might not. if we could just get a club or track day group to put up the cash, we then could set it up on motorsports reg and guys could start entering and securing their spot.

well, good news and bad. we worked out a schedule for the event if it takes place. we discussed the instructor pool and how we could handle as many cars as possible. bad news is the only events that they handle the cash are the NCM sponsored events. they have two a year and its a circus with all of the corvette enthusiasts. they have a couple of test and tune days before race events but they are joint ventures with the race group.
to rent the track they need 10% down and the rest either the day before or the day of. i dont want to speak for them but if yall could get the numbers and get someone in charge of the cash, yall could just rent the track. i know this would take a lot of cooperation but its our only hope to put this on. im poor as crap but im all over helping run the event. NVR2L8 and i can direct the event but we need a producer lol. im a realist and it aint looking good guys. i know im a broke record but the longer we wait, the less help we will have to offer in car instruction. there are some great guys in the area. corvette engineers and line workers that instruct for NCM. the bluegrass BMW track group is close. im hoping to get a couple of their lead guys to help if they can.

Thanks for getting this together! I'll do what I can to help. First would be a list of who'll commit to paying.

I'll be the first for $500.00 + 8% go fund me fee..

GUYS, ITS A GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of details to work out but the major obstacle is over. an NCM investor has agreed to front us the money to get this rolling!!! i can not stress how huge this is guys. i was all in to help but never thought we would get the lump sum together to get it started.
ill be setting up a motorsportsreg.com account in the next few weeks to start accepting entries. i instructed the chin event this last weekend and have already lined up some top tiered in car instructors. lets blow this up and at least get this gentleman his cash back. i want to get enough extra to put together a swag bag for the instructors who take off on a thursday to make this event happen.
we will try to keep it between us for a short while to let all camaro members have first dibs on a spot, but im sure everyone understands that we will have to take others at some point to fill the slots to at least break even.
vendors, there is a very real and awesome opportunity to make a small investment to name the event and setup a booth/display.
this will be the biggest and best road track event at LS Fest. we will be the only ones offering the 23 turn grand full layout with in car instruction and classroom debrief, videos, and question answer sessions.

OK guys, JOHNSONROD has done a great job to start putting the pieces together, and this event has the potential to be a great event, and one that could become an annual event. It is also a great addition to the LSFEST schedule. Come a day early and get some great track time. The NCM track is a seriously fun track to drive on, whether parade laps, touring laps, hot laps with an instructor, or high performance laps for those who want to have the full experience.

One of the most important efforts (if we want to make this an annual event) is to get participation. Track rental is expensive, will need 60-70 entrants just to break even.

If anyone knows of a vendor who wants to put up some $$$ for the naming rights for the event, pass it along to JOHNSONROD.

I will try to have the registration up by the end of next week. we will post it here and not broadcast it for a week to give anyone time to get in. we will offer two different levels of instructed groups. complete beginners are welcome.
probably something like this . . .
beginner with an instructor - 15 entries
novice - with an instructor - 15 entries
intermediate solo - 25 entries
advanced with the instructor group. point by anywhere on track- 10 entries
we are talking about offering parade laps at lunch for cheap cheap. we may even offer hot lap rides with instructors later in the day.
probably 249.99 for solo qualified drivers and 299.99 for instructed groups. almost every other group charges 300 for solo at least for a single day. chin charges 100 bucks extra for an instructor.
naming rights are dirt cheap. pm me if you want to name this event and setup a display/sales booth
