I'm considering doing this also. I'm an old dude that has had plenty of loud cars. I don't want another loud one. I wish that I would have gotten NPP but didn't. Which system is moderate to quiet going down the freeway, but really nice when you hit the gas?

I call my non-NPP exhaust dual mode.. And refer to the NPP as a quad mode.. So now I'm thinking about scrapping the entire NPP exhaust look.. Just do a standard exhaust to fit the non NPP fascia I already have..

First of all, my apology's to Flowmaster. I won the exhaust system in the April giveaway, but find it does not meet my needs. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=449996
The beginning: I bought my car without NPP because the salesman erroneously told me it could be added. I didn't check the facts, so my bad. Immediately started looking for ways to get NPP. No go. Next best thing: Change the rear facia to the one for quad tips and have a non-NPP quad tip system installed. Just so happened that Borla was coming out with one. I ordered the facia and the Borla S-type non-NPP quad tip system. Meantime: I get a call from Flowmaster that I won the contest. I NEVER win anything. ![]() Talked to a friend of mine that owns a Meineke franchise about modifying the Outlaw system to make it quad tip. It can be done. Now I'm thinking about cancelling the Borla system (and saving a bunch of $) and installing the modified Flowmasters. Before I received the Flowmasters or cancelled the Borlas I went to a car show. There was a 15 SS there with the Outlaw system. I talked to the owner and was informed that the system was very loud. He started the car and that confirmed it. MUCH TOO LOUD for me. Sounded good, but too loud. Must rethink my options. So, the facia was delivered, painted and installed. The Borla exhaust was received and installed. I am very happy with the results. Before After - Borla S-Type (non-NPP) Tips protruded a bit too much. A few days after this photo was taken I had the mufflers adjusted to bring them almost flush with the facia. The LT1 emblem was a gift. Was trying to find a place to put it when I found that it fit directly below the SS emblem like it was made to go there. Might move it or straighten them both.

I just called the dealer to get the rear facia and they said there is a $75.00 core charge. Is that true?

Yesterday I picked up my new 2SS w/non-NPP single tips. I got a great deal on the car, so I bought it thinking I'd put an after market exhaust on it.
But, WOW!! the stock exhaust is awesome. Loud, aggressive and super sounding in competition mode. I have now changed my mind and will keep it as is. One day I might switch to dual tips and new diffuser, but it would be for looks alone. Happy customer! |

Does anybody know if you can buy the NPP valves and wire them up to a switch? That would be the easiest way for me to add NPP to my NON-NPP...

Just something to consider ARH currently has my car for the last week and are designing a quad tip axleback system with it. That will be another quad tip offering on the market.
