Yesterday I sat in both a 2SS and a 1SS back to back. I really hate to join this camp, but I do kinda wish the 1LE came with a 2SS trim. Or at least some of the finishing touches of the 2SS trim. I love the lighted door sills, the spectrum lighting and the leather on the door right under the window. It just makes the car feel more upscale. How much weight could that honestly add?

You can add the leather on the door worst case scenario.

The spectrum lighting can be added

Yup, the lighting is actually an LPO option (which I definitely don't want).
Any upholstery shop can add leather there for not too much money.

You can't really compare a 1SS, to the SS 1LE, as it has Recaros, suede trim (that you can't even get on a 2SS), leather trim on the seats, and HUD just like a 2SS. It's more like a 1.5SS...

As with any car, everyone has their list of desires, must-haves, and deal breakers on something they are looking to buy.

For me, the 1LE is equipped almost exactly like I want. I'll reserve judgment on the satin graphite accents until I see one in natural light in my color of choice.

One thing I could do without: The titanium strips on the Recaros. I think they stick out like a sore thumb.

If that's all I'm griping about, it's a huge winner in my book.

Yeah agree on those trim pieces. They may be chrome going by some pics? I think they want you to know they are RECAROS lol. I may pop them off and paint them a regular silver to knock down the chromeish brightwork, maybe even satin black...

It's certainly not deal breakers for me, the pros greatly outweigh the cons on the 1LE. I just like the upscale feel of the leather and the lighted door sills and spectrum lighting I think are a cool touch.

Yeah, I can do without those, too.

I was talking about the leather inserts that are also found on the 2SS with black interior.

I have a Subaru for a daily driver. Their interiors are focused on "functional".

I don't give a crap about the interior of the car, I'm not going to be buying it for creature comforts or amenities. I'm buying it for the chassis, suspension, powertrain (and the wider wheels and spoiler). Does it have a roof/windshield, 3 pedals and a steering wheel? Yes? Then I'm going to drive the piss outta it out there on the course.

I get why many like the upscale touches and refinement.

Car interiors have come such a long way. We live in an 'a la carte' world, where everyone is used to getting exactly what they want, or what they don't want.

This will be my first American muscle car, if you can call a car that is the equal of a M4 on a track a muscle car.

Call it irrational, but I prefer the minimalist optioning, with the additions being exclusively performance related.

Maybe with my next one I will have a completely different set of priorities.

I used to be like that also. My 2014 Shelby's exterior looked amazing, and the performance was incredible. But I spent most of the time in the car and looking at the interior. After a while the "meh" interior left me wishing it was at least half as nice and special as the rest of the aspects of the car. The Camaro interior is much nicer than that of my Shelby, IMO.

I sat in the 1SS vs 2SS yesterday also. I found myself wondering why i should spend 7k more to get the 2SS interior when the 1SS was already nice enough and plenty comfortable.

It seems like the 1LE will be an even nicer place to sit, so I'm fairly sure I'll be getting a 1SS or 1SS w/1LE [depending on pricing etc].

Btw, that LT1 sounds delightful, even without the performance exhaust.

Sorry, I can't give you more than that for now, but know there will be something new for us to read shortly!
No news yet? I'm craving new info bad today.

I was told by the end of the week. I know, I'm anxious as well.
