Allow me to expand on Becky's ^ post - if you are at or past 2000 your order will be built. I can think of no exception.

you just answered my question. what a relief! Typically speaking, when you are issued the 2000 status, whats the time from for us to be issued a TPW?

Mt Sonic RS got a TPW of October 8 shortly after going to 2000, and the TPW never changed, and was built on November 7. I have had other orders get a TPW a few weeks before being built and got built as scheduled. I personally have never had an order built before the TPW but others have.

So to answer what I believe you are asking, the build typically takes three to four weeks to go from 2000 to 3800 and another two to three weeks to go from 3800 to 5000. Some ship quicker than two weeks and some take longer.

Getting a TPW is nice but getting a 2000 is nicer and a 3800 even nicer. 6000 is the best.

Good Morning Becky - I see the 56V wheels have been on constraint the week of 2/4 and 1/28 - were they on constraint before 1/28?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately that's what I thought... I had an order at 3400 with TPW of 2/1, then it went back to 3100, and then to 3000 with no TPW assigned. Now i have a TPW of 2/15 (after removing the constrained spoiler) and i am very nervous about missing the incentives that i had coming to me.

The order, once reaching 2000, will be built unless the dealer cancels it. In order to be built, some modification may be required. But the salient point is just this: the order will be built unless cancelled even if it rolls over to the next model year. Has your order # been changed?

The order will be built and not cancelled (by GM), so yes, you are certainly correct from that perspective. The only thing i could think of is if they permanently discontinued a part or option and could not fill it (not that i have ever seen that happen).

Unfortunately due to the timing on certain incentives and rebates the question of will your car be built may not be as important as when it is built and when you are able to take delivery.

I have $2000 in bonus money from my GM card (I have seen some with as much as $3000) if I take delivery by 2/29 and $1000 in a conquest offer if i take delivery by 2/15. $3000 is not a life changing amount of money, but it works out to about 7% of the cars price. Nothing to sneeze at. There are also other considerations like trade in value (If i had a trade in, it is worth less if i am driving it around or get it dinged in the 3 months it takes to get my ordered car).

So saying that a car "Will be built" is really only telling half the story.

And, My order number has not changed... I am working with my dealer to figure out exactly what we should do next. I have had a great experience with this dealer (Rossi Chevrolet in Washington NJ), so I am hesitant to look elsewhere, but I have already had to make concessions on the order due to constraints (couldn't get the ground effects at the time of order, and had to remove the blade spoiler). These are LPO's so they can be added on after the fact i know, but to loose the customization i wanted in addition to the risk of loosing the incentives has me in a pickle.

Point taken.

Laborsmith

I asked about the order # being changed because except for the situation described orders can not be changed once getting to3100 and if changed at 3000 a new order # is generated.

so is there another constraint then?

These are all good points and love readin this particular thread because gives good information.

So it sounds like I ordered the car that has the most constraints. meaning, I am now qualified to be at 2000 status because I had to change the wheels on my car, ok no big deal. but now I ordered the car with the 6sp and the blade spoiler and those sound like to be a hold up.

Now, yes, I know the car will be built, but the bigger question is when? 3, 6 months? At first I wasn't impatient because I have a ton of projects on my plate, but now that I have ordered it, it seems like the inticipation is growing very fast. Also, that my mother in law for whatever reason printed the GMS discount I have 90 days (ticking away) 15 days ago. she will not re-issue me another. So now I have that going agaist me.

The selling dealer whom I know quite well, can't tell me how long or what is the hold up (any different that what I am finding out here). I just wish that some how GM can tell us an aprox date that these constraints will be lifted and normal production can resume.

I guess its frustrerating when I go to see the TPW thread and they ordered about the same time frame as I did and I still havn't recieved a TPW. not that I care about it that much, just... well.... you know....

I do not know for certain but based on past patterns, I do not see the manual trans constraint going on much longer. I do see the very real possibility of the blade spoiler constraint going on for several weeks, even to the end of the model year.
