Congrats to Ford and the GT350R....The Mustang would have looked more impressive without the douche emcee....Who is that clown? Is he supposed to be the Happy Gilmore of cars or something?
Anyway that was a cool track comparison. I'd say the Z/28 was their inspiration, and they improved over the Z/28 in a lot of areas....Options, pricing, performance, all went Ford's way over the Z/28. Good job, Ford and Mustang. One big thing I think will still give Ford a major advantage going forward, is that FPC engine....In it's first year of availability, it beat GMs tried and true LS7 that was at the end of it's life-cycle, but the Ford engine is just getting off the ground. Ford now has a great platform and power plant that is on top and all new....Chevy has a potentially better new platform for performance, but currently no power-plant to answer back to the GT350...Should be interesting to see how GM responds. Again, congrats to Ford and Mustang, but don't put the Z/28 out to pasture yet...It was pretty close and a lot of other tracks still out there to compare on. This is the first time I've seen the Chuckwalla track used.... |

First off, the host was probably the most annoying and lame person Ive ever seen do a car review. GT350R sounds sick, no surprise here that its faster, it would have been a catastrophe if it wasn't.

I LOVE the GT350 and think it's one of the best looking cars out there right now. I'm not brand loyal at all, but I really think the Z28 or higher performance version of this 6th gen Camaro is gonna out perform the GT350 in every measurable performance category, mostly because of the fantastic chassis. Just with the base SS performing the way it does, imagine what a little more power, suspension with bigger/better tires will accomplish.

Considering the Z28 had a extra 160lbs weight, and 21 less hp, loosing by 1.16 sec in a 2 3/4 mile track is a very good showing from a car where only 500 will be made. Now a car that will have 5000 a year made or twice as many Z28 that were made, got beat by 1.79 sec and a car many will have. Not bad for a old platform.

Am i the only one that noticed Randy's lines were a little sloppy in the R? Seemed to me he could have gotten a little more out of it. Oh well. |

So, will the first, of I assume, the 2 separate Zxx Camaros coming down the pipe be designed to strike back at GT350 or will be be made to combat the non-secret GT500 that's coming?

I see no excuses. I see opinions on the track performance numbers. Want to see excuses? Go over to a Mustang forum and look at threads based on reviews where the SS is picked over the GT.
Most people on here are saying good things about the 350 and rightly so. It's a pretty sweet car. |

An MSRP GT350 of any flavor is a unicorn.
A GT350R will be a rainbow unicorn on the street, I bet I never see one. |

There has been a huge influx of Ford boys making accounts on here. It's interesting looking at the versus section across different forums.. This forum gives the Mustang plenty of praise when it's deserved. |
