We've already seen weights reported for a fully loaded car with sunroof, versus a base SS. difference will be around 70 - 80 pounds.

Too bad I'll never see a 1/4 mile strip (probably lol)...and too bad I don't really have any experience at it. My 1SS auto, with my skinny butt in the drivers seat would likely equate to a good 100 - 150 pounds less than many drivers with a loaded 2SS.

Auto cars make amateurs look like kings. Give a try on day just for fun.

Wow.

That matches the scat pack hero time. It is at 12.1 I believe with negative DA correcting to 12.2.

11's will be absolutely in the bag.

As soon as a few run at atco and or englishtown with negative DA etc this car will see 11.9 bone stock eventually. Dare I say possible 11.8.

Hell. The manual may have a shot at very close to 11.9 with a small driver in a 1ss that can rip some gears lol.

Just like the f-body days. Camaro all over the heels of the corvette and spanking the shit out of mustangs. Good times!

Amazing

In the spring after I get my 2SS you should make a trip to Gateway for a test and tune event and we can have a match up of 2 hyper blue cars. I have never run on a drag strip before and I weigh 180.

Ill be hitting up Texas Motorplex ASAP. Assuming they actually prep the damn track... Usually you get better traction on 287 leaving the track than on it..

At one of the tracks in Oregon (Champion Raceway in Medford) a few years back I took my (then brand new) auto SS and even with DR's I couldn't hook for crap.

Turns out they were taking already pre-mixed/pre-cut VHT and cutting it with more methanol to make it last longer. It would be like adding more water to pre-mixed juice.

I'm always surprised my hometown track is that well-known around the country. I grew up 20 mins from Atco. It's elevation zero, yea, but track prep was usually poor. $10 to go, $14 to run back in the high school days - with a lousy extra $4 to run what you brung, you'd see everything run there...sedans, SUV's...

I wonder how much it costs nowadays. I haven't gone in probably 5 years.

I have raced in Chandler dozens of times. It is generally .15-.2 seconds slower in the winter time than a typical sea level track. A track like ATCO or Englishtown will be easily .3 quicker when the DA gets way below sea level. I agree with your 11.8 and 11.9 estimates.
