Its great to see new additions to 10/12 and 10/19 TPW being added everyday
The order banks have been open since late July and now over 7 weeks into ordering we are still seeing 10/12 TPW cars added. I would have thought that we would have started seeing TPW 10/12 filling up? Is Chevy pushing our sold orders ahead of dealer inventory?

So I guess now, we are all a part of the earliest TPW on this board (unless we slide back!??)
So How does that make us all feel? I'll admit I'm a bit nervous that my car could be among the very first to come down the line...the first week. I hope that production plant has got their stuff together lol. I've accepted the fact that early orders tend to have more issues (In many cases, not all cases) and I don't think there will be any MAJOR issues...just little things here and there I'm assuming. I hope this is the case!

I have long felt the first few weeks of production will have the fewest quality issues upon delivery to the retail buyer. The line moves slower, quality checks are more extensive and rigorous, and any needed repairs and corrections are done by those most familiar with the vehicle. I have posted this on other forums and feed back has been affirming.
So the trade off for enduring the extra time a general QC Hold takes is a generally better assembled build. The Gen5 intro had many exceptions at the start but did not have an extended QC Hold exception. Even then, battery cables had to be replaced as the original installed ones were not long enough. But overall, the extended hold makes for as close to a best assembled vehicle as we can get. Laborsmith |
