Maro sounds horrible. Chally isn't any better. Vette and stang work. I'm thinking because you're splitting a 2 syllable word in half. Camaro and challenger are 3 syllables so just doesn't sound right to shorten 3 to 1. Lambo is two syllables out of 4 so still sound ok. This has got to be the explanation lol. Simple case of math vs grammar.
