You also forgot the guys that want an extreme exhaust but the noise bothers them. And the convertible folks that are looking for a way to not get too much wind on them.
I agree completely but I'll have my car for a while yet, and not start crying because some stranger didnt wave at me.

The organizers of some local cruise nights I attend have said that the Corvette and Cadillac Allante owners are the biggest bunch of jerks they have to deal with. I would not be surprised if the same will soon be said of gen 5 Camaro owners. The Corvettes and Allantes all have to park together, snub everyone else, and take up more space for their little cars while Fleetwoods and Imperials park in a single standard space. They are also having a fit if a few drops of rain fall and must immediately run home, while Packard and Pierce Arrow owners pull out an umbrella and say they'll just wipe it down when they get home. Yet even with Packard and Pierce owners, there are still the occassional jerks and idoits. I have met them.

Agreed. There's one person in particular that comes to mind, too. I bet you know who I'm talking about.

I have grown to really dislike 5th gen camaro owners. Sorry if this hurts people's feelings, but I'm gonna get this out.

In addition to the mostly pointless nonsense on the forums, my local car show has also left me annoyed. I have been going to this show for 10+ years. Since I got my 5th gen, I have continued to park with some of buddies I have made over the years, ranging from a 4th gen LT1 to an old Nova to a straight up army Jeep. We walk around the show and check out all the cars, chat, share stories, and hang out.

Then we have the 5th gen crew. They constantly wave me over to park near them when I roll in, but I snub them every time.

They gather at the show, created their own section away from everyone else. They take up more parking spaces than necessary (surprise surprise) and try to prevent others from parking in "their area". They have their own lame "5th gen" tshirts, and congregate in a little huddle like a high school clique. They don't make an effort to walk around the show or talk to others. A few of them need to start their cars and rev their awful, raspy sounding home brew exhaust. Not even the pro-street Chevelles do this. The king of their group actually has a cold air intake that he installed himself! Whoa! The appearance master of the group has a camaro that has every possible appendage and body piece converted to chrome. The car blinds people when it is sunny out. All the while, they look down and act smug towards the car show visitors that don't have muscle cars that just came to enjoy the night. As the show concludes, they incessantly rev and peel out of the parking lot, leaving on an even more obnoxious note.

Not sure what it is about this car, but this crowd is very disappointing. The 5th gen camaro is just another muscle car. It is not "better" than anything else out there, it's just another platform. Being one of the tens of thouasans of people that owns one does not put you in some sort of exclusive club. It is still just a car. Get over yourselves.
Just remember you bought your car for you and once you see something in it you love that's all that matters. I think maybe your area has a group of jerks who like these cars that's all. Don't let it get to you. And yeah for some reason I too find some members on here kind of rude but then again there are also lots of really great members on here. Justice Petes can't be found every where you know I see him as a suspension angel on this forum. I went to a Chevy gathering at Mackulkin Chevy Cadillac today and the crowd was fantastic just like Porsche guys.

I got snubbed in my C6 by a corvette club because I dared to put black wheels on my vette and other mods. I guess I broke the Corvette

Most of the nonsense you see on this forum is no more or less than many other car owner's forums, for sure. You're going to have this anywhere you have multiple demographics purchasing the same car, boat, truck, etc etc... it's meant to be a lot of things to a lot of different people. I drive my V6 year-around, but I keep it as clean as I can... it's a car, I love it, but I can't afford to leave it sit. Do I try to park a bit out of the way? Yep, but if somebody's going to park next to me, especially at a car cruise, etc, that's fine. If they're at a cruise in, they likely have the same respect for their own car as I do mine.

Now, as to your comments on the local scene, I don't get out to many, so not sure that I have seen you around anywere, (not sure which 'show' you are referring to) but I am sure I know some of those that you have seen. 5th Gen shirts? Why not? We're a car club... Why wouldn't we rep the club/cars we love? I don't see where parking together is a bad idea? I am sure that there are some members that need to remember parking in spots is courteous to others, I have seen this before. I am not sure why you are attacking some of those members for how they have modified their cars, weather performance or visual mods... I believe I know exactly which car you are talking about with all of the chrome... but really? Who cares? It's his car? Like I said, I don't get to as many shows/cruises as I would like, but those that I have been around, I haven't seen some of the stuff that you have seen. Not saying it didn't happen, but I would hope that you would understand that NOT all of us are like that, in any way shape or form. I love cars. Do I walk around and talk and talk with others at cruises? Maybe not much, but I sure do look... I guess I just don't talk much.

All in all, you do what you gotta do, man. We all love our Camaro's, and when there are as many Camaro's on the road as there are, there are bound to be some that you don't agree with, but gotta move on, and remember that we're not all the same guy/girl...

Maybe I'll see you around... I won't be reving my exhaust, it's stock!

OP, what show is this? I live in woodridge just outside Naperville, I do agree with what your saying. This car attracted all kinds of people that never had a real car, jumped on the ship and show they have no idea what it is to be a gear head. Personally I can care less what you drive, ford, chevy or mopar...i like talking cars, building them, and beating the piss out of them! Eventually these guys will sell and move on to the next best thing. I hate that it gives us real gear heads with 5th gens and bad name to allot of the other crowds. This is my 3rd Camaro, and one of many muscle cars I have had, those actions are plain stupid! Most people won't even turn a wrench on these cars, mine is home built just like my other cars. These guys put a bunch of bling crap on there cars and take them to shows and have a ****y attitude it's a joke. But still, I have meet a bunch of cool 5th gen owners, but these guys your talking about make up a big group with this car.
