Also, just compare our cars from a design consistency point of view, you must see how round bulbs do not match the rest of the bodywork. As great as they look on the C6 because they flow with the body lines, they're as alien on our 6th gen cars.

Yeah, yours is a bit faster, so what, I'll drop 40-50 pounds and my already-great-but-then-truly-awesome weight advantage will tip the scales

Ok it’s on. I’m ripping my back seats out tomorrow. Maybe even take hood off to be lighter, speakers too those magnets are heavy.

Funny to see how some members feel the need to attack. This is suppose to be a light hearted information site.

Curious, do you know when the actual oil pump was changed? What the date is? Wondering because my 2018 was built 6/25/2018 which should be a very late 2018 production date. I have another 4 years of bumper to bumper so not that concerned but curious. I think 2019 production started in 7 or 8/2018

I maintain my stance on previous statements but I will add to it. It is always good to think practically when making a vehicle purchase. Or as practically as possible. Especially considering that most of these purchases are done out of passion.
As an example, a few months ago I was in a motorcycle dealership just browsing as I had nothing else to do that day. I started looking at the new M109R BOSS motorcycles. Mind you, I already have a M109R BOSS but mine is a 2006 with about 17K miles. And those new ones looked soo nice sitting there all brand new. And I was tempted to trade in and sign for one of them. But then I thought to myself, I have, literally, the same bike. Same dimensions. Same engine. Same trans. Same HP specs. Same TQ specs. Well as far as I know they are all the same. But because they were new and sitting on a showroom floor, they just looked soo much better than mine. But I walked away because mine is paid for. Why take my bike that is paid for and trade it in for the same exact bike and have over $11,000 in payments to make. But to someone else the allure of getting one of those brand new Zooks might have been too much to turn down. So what I'm saying is if it is more a purchase out of passion and desire, and when the honeymoon phase of buying a new ZL1 wears off, if you believe that at that point you will still think you made the right decision, then go ahead. Remember, this is a $70K decision. It is nowhere near as close to my $11,000 decision. Also remember we are still in a Pandemic that very well might get worse in the next few months. Gas is going to increase. Groceries. Etc. You might be ok with the car payment. But other expenses and bills could increase that might make you regret your purchase. And when it comes down to it, groceries, etc will always take precedence over a car like a ZL1. If you are paid off or well along on your current ride, then it might be a good idea to hold off. My employment is very steady and my jobs are not under any threat as I work in Health Care. Yet last year I ditched my allocation for a C8 that had a MSRP of $77K simply because it did not seem like a good idea to make that purchase considering where things were at and how things looked at that time. I would have had mine by now BTW. But I don't feel bad because I made the right decision for myself at that time. So all I can say is think it over, be realistic, try to remove the passion and desire from your thought process and consider things pragmatically, and at the end of the day if you think it is a good idea then go for it. |
