A 3.15 gear would help...the 2.66 is going to hold it back.
I think it will run 11's with either a gear, or a converter consistently. It has enough power. |

The overall effective ratio of the first two first gears are still more aggressive than the 6 speed manual car. When you have 8 speeds you can make them tight.

12.4-12.7 will be the range IMO.
I have a 14 C7 auto 6 speed and car runs 12.19s with stock tires. Car is much lighter than Camaro by more than 900lbs. The A8 may be a little faster but not more than a few tenths. All in all we live in a great muscle car era, 12s in the 60s and 70s were rare unless you had deep pockets. Hell is starting to freeze over when Dodge leads the HP war for cars with a back seat and it's 2015. Very fun times regardless of manufacture. |

Yes and the new camaro will weigh around 3750. That's around a 500lbs difference. Not 900lbs.

Not even 900lbs difference between the 5th gen and C7.

The 2016 was said to be 200 lbs lighter than base model. So yes the Camaro is still a bunch heavier than the Vette several hundred depending upon what creature features you choose. GM is going in the right direction from a weight stand point. |

The fastest stock stingray time is 11.3. and thats what we are talking about. fastest possible hero run. 12.4-12.7 will be a good average range if thats what u are saying. To say the fastest time the camaro will be capable of is a 12.4 will be wrong...i guarantee you....the old one ran as fast as 12.5 lol. At 3900 lbs and 426 hp. btw the curb weight for the stingray is 3300 (3298) . It is around 3450 lbs with options and z51 package. The cars will be about 400lbs apart depending on options. Thats 4 tenths in the quarter mile. |

Look i never said gen 6 camaro to vette C7 comparison. I know the gen 6 camaro will be lighter(200lbs) as Gen 5 camaros are heavier.
Relax.... their will be great variations in times. Plenty of time to prove the other person wrong after all these are just predictions. The majority of these cars stock will never see 11s. |

What about my post made you think I'm not relaxed ? I didn't use any caps or one exclamation point bro. But I can't sit by and let someone say the cars are 900 lbs apart lol... I'm sorry but you weren't even in the same universe with that calculation. I would have called anyone out for that. I apologize if I somehow offended you with my post. And yes... An 11 second run if it happens will be very rare if I had to guess. Never said anything different. |

I wonder if we will see inexpensive mods to the 4 cylinder turbo that will put it in the 11.9x range.
