I haven't used the Redline, but I have used Syncromax and Amsoil ATF, and for me the Amsoil seemed to feel smoother longer. I think both felt the same new, but the Amsoil felt the same at 5000 miles as it did new.
Just dont overthink the whole thing - GM didn't design this trans, Tremec did. Its the same transmission for all cars that use a TR6060 (GT500, GT350, Viper, Challenger, etc......), the only reason GM recommends using the temp sensor as the drain plug is that they didn't want to redesign the cross member. Both will get the fluid out. You would get a little bit more out of the actual drain plug, but it is maybe 2oz more. There is much more residual fluid in the lines, cooler, and pump (there is a actual fluid pump in the front of the transmission that is used to cycle the ATF around the car - it is actually shipped to the cooler in the front to cool, and then shipped to the differential in a heat exchanger to lower the temp of the rear diff)

I plan on using Amsoil Signature all the way around my new 2SS 1LE. Signature Multi-vehicle ATF on trans and Signature 0W-40 Synthetic for the engine. From the reviews and testing I've research and the real world results I've seen from others using Amsoil and how they have run their cars, it is the clear choice for me. Only reason I don't use the Amsoil Z-ROD in the engine is that they don't make it in the correct weights yet.
But I've seen engines completely pulled apart drag and heavy street use and the components looked brand new even thought the engine was a couple years old. Also zero wear, even on the main crankshaft bearings. That kind of real world performance says something in my book.

Flushed and switched to Amsoil Signature Series Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid. The car shifts nice and smooth, much better than anything else I have tried. https://www.amsoil.com/p/signature-s...ion-fluid-atf/ |

Just passed 51,500 miles and changed the fluids again.
Valvoline Dex/Merc ATF went back in as it seems to work better that the Royal Purple I tried once.

In my previous LS2 and LS3 powered vehicles I ran Mobil 1 5w40 turbo diesel oil as it has more zddp in the formula.

Your emissions equipment is not out of warranty, and those are the parts that Dexos 2 is designed to protect. However, it's worth noting again that the Dexos 2 cert entails the highest wear standards ever implemented in any motor oil standard.

Been loving the Mobil1 ATF on track. No more 2-3 shift issues.

Do 1LEs have oil coolers? I assumed so, if not how do I find out if it's 10 or 7?

If you have a 1LE or ZL1, you have a cooler. You can't drain the fluid out of the cooling loop, so the amount that drains is the same.
