I will say that breaking the adhesive loose holding the spoiler on is the hardest part of removing the spoiler. The nuts are fairly easy to remove from the inside of the trunk. I had to use a heat gun to soften up the adhesive. If you use a heat gun be careful not to get the paint too hot. The new spoiler comes with new nuts and the adhesive already installed.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Changing the color certainly improves the look and Mosaic black matches the other trim pieces.
Thanks for the info!

You are welcome.

I took today off so I decided to do a little painting. Went by my local commercial auto parts store this morning and had them mix me up a aerosol spray can of Mosaic black metallic. I had previously purchased some gloss black door handle covers for my 1LE that I ended up not using. When purchased my ZL1 I ordered a set of gloss black mirror covers. However, I didn't like them in gloss black.

So I decided to sand both and paint them Mosaic black metallic. Over the years I have dabbled in painting small parts for my cars. I already had a new can of clearcoat and some 800 and 1200 grit sandpaper, so while I was at the auto parts store I picked up a 2000 grit wet/dry sponge.

I sanded all the pieces then put 4 coats of paint on the parts. Then I sanded them again with the dry sponge. After that I applied 4 coats of clearcoat and lightly sanded them again before polishing the parts. I think they turned out pretty good. I know that I going to use the mirror covers. But I’m still undecided about the door handle covers.

I like it. Looks way better than the gloss black IMO.

Thanks for the comparison about what I figured. I found a low miles 2018 ZL1 in hyper blue. Tempting

You are welcome. My thought process on the ZL1 was that if I wanted one now was the time to buy one with production ending in December. Once GM stops producing them they are going to become harder to find and possibly even more expensive. And I expect those that have a ZL1 will be more likely to keep them.

This weekend I installed the Mosaic black side mirror caps and door handle covers that I painted last week. Today I also installed gloss red hash marks with gloss black edges that I picked up from Screaming Chicken. I have matte black hash marks on my 1LE and really like them. So l thought gloss red and black would look good on my Summit White ZL1.

Not really a fan of the hash marks, mainly because of the color. It would have made more sense if the car had red calipers or something else red to go with it. That's just me though... I like the door handles/mirrors though, looks fantastic!

That said, you gotta make your car your own, and nothing wrong with it!!!

Thanks. I like the Mosaic Black pieces too. I went with the gloss red hash marks mainly because red goes so well with Summit White. I also considered gloss black with red pinstripes on the hashmarks. I think that would have been a good combination as well. I was just wondering if that would be too much black with all my other Mosaic black parts.

Since the hash marks are vinyl I can easily remove them and change colors if I want to later on. The red does help accent the red 1 in the ZL1 emblem and when I get around to putting my SS 1LE wheels on the car next weekend, the red 1 on the brake calipers will be much more noticeable too.

Finally got around to switching out my wheels for the takeoff set of 1LE wheels I bought a couple of months ago. In my opinion the 1LE wheels are the best looking oem Camaro wheels. More pictures to come of the entire car with the 1LE wheels.

Are the wheels set in further than the stock ZL1 wheel offset? From the pictures you look to have more wheel well clearance or maybe it’s just the angle of the photos.

From what I’ve read the SS 1LE and ZL1 wheels are the exact same size and offset

Looking fwd to seeing the ZL1 with the SS 1LE wheels.
I think the SS 1LE trunklid spoiler is the best looking for these cars - would be neat to see it on a ZL1.
