If the track is great, DRs might not help much. But most of the time they will help.

Minor grinding of the caliper will be needed. One wheel actually fit without touching but was too close for my taste for any flex while Street driving. Took both down alittle and zero issues.
Very impressed with your car, keep posting updates.

Thank you! And will do. I'll be heading back on a Radial seeing as I got booted for running faster than a 7.25 with a slick. With some minor changes and update on the tune I feel 7.0s are in it as it sits.

7.0's stock engine would be killer.

I had to switch back to the stockers since mother nature is laying it on SoCal right now. So I took the time to get some pics of how much I ground down.

That and an MSD intake might get you into the 6's

Not a bad amount of grinding.

What fronts are you running?

Stocks for the most part. But I borrow my friends 18" Weld S77's off his CTSV. I'll be borrowing his rear 18's but he has a 325 M&H so I'm not 100% sure its going to fit. the fun part of being a guinea pig with a brand new car right?

I was going today to run mine on stock tires, but mother fking nature took that out of the equation. I have a set of 17x8's vet wheels I had taken off a vet I had. They will be too narrow if I decide to go drag radials. I could use them to grind my calipers. There are a lot of vet wheels out there, so easy peasy.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like you ground a pretty good amount off. I will have to look at mine and see what I want to do.

My old supercharged g8gt about 5 years ago.

Couldn't break into the 11's without drag radials. It made 451 at the wheels and had about the same 1st gear ratio that the A8 does. So, yes drag radials do work. Here is the proof, don't have any vids with street tires and the car weighed 4050 with 3/8 tank of fuel at gateway motorsports park.

Didn't really take that much off. If you painted it you probably couldn't tell.

Just as a finality to my post...I sold the drag radials to a Corvette forum guy We met up in St Louis and he's very happy to have them. I will run on the stock tires for whatever it's worth and watch for a set of 20 inch wheels and DRs on here or the Camaro5 forum...I'm told the 5th gen wheels bolt right on our cars.
