Still Love The Camaro
I still won't deny I love the Camaro, but pricing was an issue for me. Talked a dealer down on new mustang a significant amount with every available option. Camaro equipped the same is 6k more msrp and I'm sure they won't be coming off that for 6-8months. I figure I can buy lots of modding trinkets for 6k. I could possibly regret my decision in the future, but I do love the car.

I'm in the market for a sports-coupe/sedan. I'm considering the following (all in manual transmission form). (price in red is what i'd be willing to pay..)
2016 Camaro 2SS 1LE <-- if exists < $55K 2016 Alfa Giulia <-- ~ $65K 2016 BMW M2 <-- ~$60K 200[9-11] 911S <-- last P car with legendary hydraulic steering, < $55K with <30K mi & extended Porsche warranty Side notes: - not sure if 2SS justifies its price and additional weight above a 1SS. Especially since navigation using a smart phone imaged onto a 1SS display panel seems to render the 2SS navigation pointless - wish I liked the front grill of gt350, but can't get over how busy those interwoven fangs are.. - entertaining the leasing option Last edited by juzefzoozoo; 11-15-2015 at 11:21 PM. That is a good looking car! I talk trash about mustangs simply to ruffle ford guys feathers. I definitely prefer camaro styling (though I always felt the gen 5 looked fat). I really thought "I could see myself driving that" the first time I saw a 2015 mustang. And, I keep getting those little lingering doubts. With the price I'm paying for the 2016 I could buy a 2015 2SS 1LE with the current discounts! Definitely can't fault you for buying a mustang. Enjoy it!

Ok, this just in. So the Quadrifoglio Alfa Giulia is due at US dealers second quarter 2016, and will cost "around" $70k according to Alfa. That's a bit above my budget despite it having 505hp, weighing only 3360lbs, sprinting from 0-60 in 3.8s in manual transmission form, amungst other mind boggling facts.. such as it being a four door with usable rear seats and looking AMAZING!! A lesser model boasts only 276hp with turbo 4cyl, meh.
Will Alfa offer something in between for "around" $55k with 400hp?? Really hope so. Also hoping a Camaro SS with 1LE option will be revealed before or about the same time because I can't think of a better dilemma than to choose between such beasts. 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia First U.S. Specs: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...otos-and-video Live Photos And Video Last edited by juzefzoozoo; 11-19-2015 at 03:06 PM. |

Here's a radical cross. "It would appear the mid-engine Corvette is indeed in the works…and could spawn a Cadillac sibling." The next obvious question,... could it spawn a Camaro sibling?? Unlikely since most mid-engined vehicles are coupes (with only two front seats) but there are exceptions.. Lotus Evora, and the upcoming Alfa Giulia.

I would love to see a mid-engined Corvette. BUT, even if that happens you would never see a mid-engined Camaro. The Corvette is a sports car, the Camaro is not, it would be two way too similar cars in the same product line, it would push the Camaro price up to nearly the same as the Corvette and finally, the Camaro is a 2+2, which is way to tight do pull of on a mid-engined car with out massive compromise.

The thing is most Italian cars ooze passion, I don't know, just something about them. I mean that new Alfa is a sexy car... |

I agree about the warranty. However, unless this is a 2nd or 3rd car, I'd get frustrated and annoyed by repeated trips to the dealership to fix this and fix that. The passion would die fast if the car spends more time on a mechanic's hoist than on the road, regardless of warranty.
