Legal limit and know how it's being enforced in your AO. I've had to strip it off, knew it was less than the legal limit when I did it. Ive been stopped and had it measured...I don't F around with tint anymore that doesn't meet the legalities.

*saying it protects your interior from fading is pretty fat fetched.

SatinsteelSS looks good what size is that windshield strip?

I didn't do my windshield. Since there's not much glass I wanted a clear view. Just preference. If you go down to the AS-1 line I didn't think it would look right. Sides and back 35 but against red looks dark

Cut Jeb some slack. If you don't carry a gun for a living you wouldn't understand. I've made plenty of car stops in my 20 plus career in LE. The side arm is drawn when it needs to come out depending on the nature of the stop and the circumstances involved. At the very least on most stops my hand is on my gun just in case during initial contact. Any LEO can tell you that NO stop is routine. Complacency is the kiss of death in this job.

What I have seen statistically is that most accidents involving a pedestrian happen while making a left turn due to the blind spot on the very large A pillars of most modern cars. I always look both ways over them when making a turn just in case. More so now because of the tint.

20% is perfect. Not too dark not too light In NYS 70% is the standard. Most cops have a tolerance of 50% or 40% and they may let you slide. Even NYS inspection stations use tint meters and may reject you if the glass is too dark. Actually the dark tint is just a good excuse to pull you over to see if you are a "511" suspended license. I don't write tint summons any more unless I have to. Especially since my ride with 20% is not in compliance.

As a footnote: when you are being pulled over for whatever reason, please roll both of your dark tinted windows ALL the way down before the cop walks up to the car and and put your hands palm up on the steering wheel and follow the officer's instructions. You're probably on body cam

Why tint? I want people to see *I* am driving. As a chick, most people think its a guy driving and I love the look on their faces when they realize its a chick and I power away.......

I get so much crap on the roads. So many guys mess with me, my husband was shocked when he came along for a ride one day.

It’s not the 90s anymore. There is clear tint that can reject just as much heat and uv as opaque tint now.

But nobody ever seems to talk about it.

All the discussions about tinting I've ever seen are about 'how dark' it is. People sometimes offer up heat and UV to justify tinting, but the primary reason always turns out to be what it looks like. 90% stuff would get treated like "why even bother?".

Your tint and sun strip on the windshield look great. Also that '19 is looking good man. That grey metal color and black work on the 19's.

I take it a step further. I shut the car off, window down, interior lights on (if it's at night), hands on the steering wheel, and my wallet with ID already in plain sight before the officer approaches. Some cops have told me they appreciate it, and it's got me out of a speeding ticket at least once.
