Off the top of my head:
- horsepower bumps for the top trim via a larger supercharger and tune changes, maybe even flex fuel capability (to keep up the perception that they actually care) - break up the taillights, by which they could vastly increase trunk opening size - 1" lower belt line (to address visibility and ingress/egress concerns) - exterior design changes that appeal to more people (2019+, need I say more) - interior improvements (better phone storage/charging, more general storage, more accessible ports) - electronics (adaptive cruise control, larger screen and/or changing the weird angle) - more configurability at ordering time (just look at Dodge) - more colors to choose from and maybe, just maybe, better paint quality - at least some minimal marketing/advertising activity instead of radio silence I for one don't care much about any of these, I still bought the car and am loving it, but IMO these tweaks could've helped with sales to a surprising extent.

Most of those tweaks require large engineering changes that would normal for a full generation change, not year over year tweaks. Especially trunk and beltline changes.
I would not expect anything other than a decal package for the final run. The Camaro is only continuing because it turns a small profit and doesn’t cost anything to keep going, as soon as any engineering changes are needed or the plant capacity is needed for other projects it will be gone.

One thing that could easily be done is bring back the '16-18 exterior for '24.

Well if we talk about all these combined, then yes It's all in the hypothetical anyway.

I believe there's 2 reasons GM is going to keep the brand going. #1 Ford continued on with the V8 Coyote Mustangs and #2 NASCAR. GM is still big into NASCAR and they must have a current production car for sale that competes in NASCAR. They can't use a C8 Vette since it's mid-engine on the streets and they certainly won't use an Equinox lol.
The big question for me is will they make any engine updates to the street cars? The LT1 engine is ANCIENT compared to the Coyote engines. There's nothing wrong with it, they work great.........just an old design. All the tech/performance on the Camaros is fine and totally relevant. We'll see, VERY interesting.

From what I have heard over the years is yes however, I never actually did research into it. I have a couple relatives that are Nascar fans that I heard this from. |
