The dude is active this morning, and already responded to my reply with some info I had questioned...

I believed the stock pressure on the LTG HPFP was 200bar, where is the XDI-35 is 180bar. He confirmed that my theory of the stock pump was indeed 200bar, but says the 20bar less would not hurt anything. Where the XDI trumps the stock pump is that is supplys 35% more volume. He seems to think the injectors will be maxed out before the XDI-35 is... But I calculate the injectors are good to 625 hp on pump gas @ 80% duty cycle... I wonder where the stock HPFP will run out?

I'll pull the stock pump off my spare engine today and take it apart. Maybe I can bore it out and make a bigger piston or something... Who knows.

Sounds great. On the DISI engines you could swap out the piston only without change to the pump itself. I wonder if this one is different.

It does sound great... But I already pulled it off and my initial inspection tells me that this pump does not come apart. Everything seems to be welded together...

When I get a chance I will measure the throw on it and then compare it to the cam lobe to see if anything is being left on the table...

There isn't any large amount of "preload" like I was hoping for originally for my fuel lobe regrind idea, BUT if there is enough travel for the follower in the bore, and there is stoke left on the table, the regrind idea is still viable and you would just shim the roller to take up the extra space in the travel to get the extra stroke taken out of the base circle on the regrind

Is there a clip hiding on the piston under the spring retainer? It will probably disassemble that way.

Doesn't appear to be but I'm sure there must be. I'll probably have to make some special damn tool to get it apart.

You are right though.... The DISI pump had a hex and threads that let you take the entire piston out as an assembly with the spring. The photos you've posted don't appear to have that...

Yeah, that's what I found from my research earlier this morning. I'm wondering if I get the spring off if the piston even comes out still

Very possible that it does not....

Doesn't seem to. I put it in a arbor press, pushing only on what would appear to be "the retainer" (I was hoping it was like a valve spring), it's obviously not, or there is something I'm not seeing. So I'm guessing it's some
Magical sealed unit as I can not find a way it comes apart.

I did measure the stroke length, I came up with .300"

I will throw a dial inductor on the fuel lobe and see what that measures.

They said it was a tight fit on the ATS, I don't think anyone has put one on a Camaro yet.

They say they are working in a "bolt on kit" still, but make it sound like a diy rig up is possible. May have to have custom fuel lines made??? Not sure.

Said if we can put together a group buy of 5 or more there would be a 20% discount in price

Sounds like drilling the manifold for 4 1000cc injectors + running a piggyback type driver sounds much cheaper.

Exactly!

So I measured the fuel pump lobe, I forgot ZZP had the info on their site already, they say it's .157", I measured it at .160"... Pretty close. They're lobe has .200" stroke, still leaving about .100" of stroke available in the HPFP. Might be able to get it to .225 or .250" and still be safe. Wouldn't want to go the full .300" and risk putting the HPFP spring in a coil bind situation at high RPMS. So, back to the fuel lobe regrind drawing board, it's a viable answer.
