Could just be to mate to the larger and differently located ports on the valve covers, now that I think about it. I guess a 427 crankcase wouldn't need any more fresh air than a 376 crankcase, since it's identically sized.

Larger engine displacement in same size crankcase will require better breathing.
Bigger pistons traveling in a longer stroke with more potential blow-by due to increased ring surface area.

Exhaust getting fabbed up. Kooks 2in headers coated by JetHot in satin black. Went with High Output cats, GESI part number 457040 and keep trying to find specs on them, i.e 500 per bank or 850, with no clear answer. Either way, they will hold up just fine for the application. Catback is Stainless Works Legends series, recommendation by Zach. Heard a few videos and they sound great on camera. In person im sure they'll sound even better. Nice deep tone to them which is my preferred. Mishimoto oil cooler as well for more temp control. Also got surprised with some OEM ZL1 1LE grill screens for the aux coolers which is awesome. Going to have another grill protector fabricated that'll sit behind the fascia to protect the radiator and the additional oil cooler thats front and center. Cant wait to get to the shop and take delivery and finally meet the everybody!

That makes sense, yet the LT4 uses the same tiny plastic lines on stock form, and I would think it would potentially have more blowby than an N/A car with both at full tilt.

Anyway, I'll stop derailing. This build is awesome!

LT4 would most definitely have more potential blow-by.
But as you said, there is the factor of having to plumb the new valve covers which may have necessitated the use of a larger diameter hose to mate with existing fittings. Better to go a little big than too small.

Just me guessing.

Getting close!! Katech team over there creating perfection with this torque monster. Had a grill screen fabbed up to keep the oil cooler and other bits protected. This car will see plenty of street use so I just wanted peace of mind from rocks and the like from busting up radiators and the oil cooler especially. Some more bits to be put on as well for the front end like stainless steel brake lines and swaybar endlinks etc etc

Shes alive!! Engine is back in the car and lets call it 90-95% complete. I believe theres some finishing touches that need to take place and itll be a wrap. I could not be more ecstatic about the results and about the final build. Itll be the perfect car. Either the Anderson Composites hood or the 550 tq on E/Flex is what im most excited about lol. Car sounds absolutely nasty with the Kooks paired with the High Output cats and Stainless Works Legends catback. Very much looking forward to getting to the shop and meeting everybody!

Shes all finished fellas. Turned out better than I could ever imagine even just based on pictures. Car will be absolutely sublime in person. So happy to have the opportunity to work with Zach and the people over at Katech. They are simply the best at what they do. Cant wait to finally take delivery.

Idle clip of the 427. Im in love with how it sounds. Nice deep baritone rumble, just what I was hoping for. Zach has the perfect ear and apparently others at Katech loved it too!
