Update: I've made 50% progress! The back part of the shaft, u-joints and aluminum spacer are removed. This thing is only 4mm thick ! I'll work on the trans end tomorrow, but it's so hard getting to the bolts the way they are positioned, one hex and one 3/4, with hex. Not looking forward to reoming the front part !

ZL1Rob... no kidding, it could not have happened at a better place and time !

Update: Factory driveshaft is back in. Not waiting to see what DSS decides to do with replacing the one that failed. Car is all back together and took a quick drive around the neighbor hood and all went fine. Man did that feel great to get driving it again! Since I had the exhaust off, I decided to take a peek at my UHF CATs, and they look pretty dang good! One thing that was great during my repair process was Katech, Mike and Nick really helped a lot. Nick took time on weekends and evenings to answer questions and confirm the things I did looked correct. Mike sent me the tech instructions for removing and reinstalled the driveshaft. That made the process much easier etc. So, she's back on the road. Now, time to install a few other goods that arrived. My, EMP Rear Seat Delete kit and my BMR Harness Bar. I've yet to order a harness.

I'm confused, the driveshaft was a Katech product? Isn't it just remove the exhaust, heat shield, old drive shaft and just reverse the procedure?

How did I know you would have a questions! The drive shaft was NOT a Katech product. I purchased a DSS Carbon Fiber 1-pc Driveshaft from from Phastek. I had it direct shipped to Katech with the BMR Cradle Lock Out Kit and Bushings while they had my car in their shop doing other work over the winter/spring. After getting the car back from Katech, the driveshaft failed, and I fixed it here. First time in my life I've ever worked on a car's drive line. So, I had questions, and asked Nick for confirmation what I did was done so correctly ! Have a good one !

Good job on getting the whip zipped-back-together! At least now, you can get back out there and enjoy it while the DSS-BS gets sorted out. AND - you can continue with the new mods'.

Update: Started two project(s) this evening, 1) installing the EMP Rear Seat Delete kit and 2) installing the BMR Harness Bar kit! WOW, I didn't know that I'd need to go in so deep that I'd have to remove the rear seat belts and hardware etc. I'm sure I could have, probably, completed the BMR Harness Bar kit install without removing the rear seat belts. But, I figured I'm this far so why not do all the steps! I'm not really sure, for me anyway, what the rear seat is good. I guess to say it's a fast AZZ 4 passenger vehicle !!!!! Pics show another project I'm debating if I'm going to install or not. I probably will install it, just to see how it works. But, not sure I'll keep it installed. I'm waiting for a steering wheel mounting bracket from JEGS, to mount the JEGS momentary switch to engage the 2-Step ! I should have all 2 or all 3 projects completed by the weekend !

Thanks for all the encouragement and support for my build!

Update: The EMP Rear Seat Delete kit and BMR Harness Bar kit are installed!!!

The Rear seat delete kit pretty straight forward as the instructional video shows!

The BMR Harness Bar - It took me over an hour to realize it's nearly impossible to follow their instructions, and ended up NOT doing so. A few notes: 1) For the front seat bolts located on the floor of both the drivers and passengers, you only need to remove the one outside bolt for each. 2) I think it was a good idea that I decided to remove the rear seat belts, as you need one of the threaded holes in each lower corner at the bottom for the harness bar bracket, and this way the seatbelt won't bang around lose, 3) You can't assemble it all first like the instructions tell you to do. If so, you will end up scratching the crap out of your rear interior panels. What I did was, I attached the rear seat brackets where the rear seat belt was held at the bottom on each side, to the car first, then I attached the adjustable swivel braces to the front seat brackets with the same seat bolts I removed, then inserted the harness frame behind the seats, and then I attached the brackets and braces to the harness bar frame, and then tidied up everything afterwards.

For the Rear Seat Delete deck, I had to notch the sides at the back for the brackets. It's best to do this outside of the car to get a clean cut.

I'm please with hoe it all turned out ! I just have to order a harness next. I'm taking a break and will work on the 2-Step next weekend! Time to drive !!!

Update : NO VIBRATION !!!!! Ok, you guys all know I have been talking about how bad the MT ET Street R's vibrated at certain speeds ??? But, at the same time I added the Weld drag pack, the DSS Carbon Fiber driveshaft was also new to me at the same time. Well, I just completed a few pulls on the open highways (in Mexico) and BAM ! I have ZERO vibration! I assume it was the driveshaft that was causing the vibration. I went back to factory driveshaft and I pick up NONW ! WOW !!! Maybe that driveshaft was a bad egg from the beginning.

WOW, that looks great Scott! Great write up on the install also, I am sure that will help some guys!

Also happy to hear your vibration is gone, and agree, your DSS CFD could have been a lemon from the start. I'd defiantly share that info with them.

Update: Installed MSD 2-Step today ! Install was easy and straight forward, took about an hour. I only had to loosen (2) coil packs that were tight up against the THPSI fuel injectors (passengers side), nothing else out of the ordinary. Ran the ground only option for the switch to engage the 2-Step and picked up ground easily from under the console. Put it all back together, and started it up, no engine codes, so I guess I got everything back together correctly! Now, I just need to fabricate a wrap around steering wheel bracket to hole the button !!! Can't wait to give it a try !
