Just a few photos to share... ordered a Mishimoto coolant reservoir for ALEX, and ended up pickup one for myself also, but when they arrived it was clear the matte black finish was not going to work for me or him... so he got the satin finish to match his new HX coolant reservoir, and I did the satin wrinkle to match the rest of, and more to come satin wrinkle goodies... These are quality units, very sturdy, installed like OEM, and they look WAYYYY better than the clear plastic unit no doubt! We installed his today, I'll let him share photos / write up... mine will go in soon... lots more to follow!!!

Hi Gabe

Are you going to offer them in the wrinkle black? I buy a new clear plastic OEM one every 2 years since they start to yellow from the heat (which looks like crap lol). So I’ll pick one up from you this winter if so as I don’t love the flat or satin black. Also, are they any slimmer than OEM or do they measure out the same? I can use all the room I can get lol. Thanks!

Hey Josh, because I am almost done with a set of decorative caps for all of the reservoirs, that will be a similar finish to satin wrinkle black, I will likely keep at least one or two of these on the shelf in satin wrinkle as I except alot of people to upgrade to the matching decorative caps. The upgraded finish will cost about $95 extra.

Once the caps are done, I will advertise a group buy on both items so we can try to get the cost down.

As for the size of the reservoir. It appears to be about 3/4" shorter, but the width at the very bottom seems to be about 1/4" wider. Other than that, the install was pretty simple. I agree, the OEM one is ugly and yellows fast. I also replaced mine not to long ago when it was already out of the car.

Stay tuned

Here is my satin wrinkle against the other two standard Mishimoto finishes.... I think the wrinkle looks soooooo much better, and will be alot easier to keep clean. The "polished" aluminum one looks pretty rough.

I already told you I’d buy one, stop rubbing it in!

No worries. this replaces the OEM plastic unit. Purely cosmetic upgrade. Here are a few photos from my buddy Alex's car. We just installed his this weekend, along with a matching SC coolant reservoir.

Looking good Gabe, didn't know if you knew Moroso also makes those tanks.

They are more than Eye candy, in road coarse situations we have had the stock tanks burn a hole in them from the headers with ceramic coating and heat tape on the tank.

Why can't they make an aluminum cap to match the tank. I have the tank can't find a metal cap.

Ahh I see what the tank replaces now, but wouldn't the metal tank make the liquid hotter internally vs the plastic?

Good point lol. This is honestly the first I've read about those tanks melting with headers. Is this a common issue, or just good insurance for a just in case type problem?
