So I see none have gotten into the 10's yet. I saw the graphs above and wanted to talk about what mine made and how quick it has gone. My SS recently made 669/635 on the dyno and the next weekend it ran 10.33@135 with 1.50 60ft. I think the heat is affecting the blowers performance if it is pulling a bunch of timing as it looks like the Lt4s are. I know a few have run very close to the tens with drag radials. I run a Maggie 2300 and my IATs are running about 120 on a 90 degree day. Even when I wasn't running race fuel and a bunch less timing I still ran 10.80's@129.88. The smaller blower and heat is killing the Zl1's. It would seem with the A10 the 60' times should also be better then the A8 with a lower 1st gear. I wish someone could figure it out. I think AEM Water/Meth injection could help with the IATs and possibly help lower the temps.

Thanks Dave! The da was good but the humidity was 90%. The mph showed 128. I was dead on with what my PDR was showing when I crossed the traps. But, I do know that the track's mph should be slightly lower because of the way it's calculated.

Well, it seems that if this car does have 10s in it from the factory, the stars have to align perfectly to make it happen. You need the DA, perfect launch and the computers have to be in a good mood. Definitely not as easy to obtain as it should be, given the mph which is frustrating.

Not sure if anyone saw this but it appears Cleatus ran a 10.97 with his zl1 in what looks to be stock form, however it is possible it has tires on it I couldn't tell. Fast forward to 6:20 for the run. |

Hey, I'm one who wants to see these cars kick ass like they should. It takes 670 at the wheels to run low tens. You can't do it with the setup the Zl1 has. It probably needs to torque management takin out of it. That's gotta be holding the car back. Someone needs to do a drag pack like mine which will save 100 lbs. as the cars are already heavier then the SS. Maybe the A8 is a better drag tranny then the A10. I just figured the gears being closer together it would be jack the bear at the strip. Guess I was wrong on that one. Tune, rolling mass and blower holding it back for sure.

Is it safe to say that us M6 ZL1 folks need a CAI, pulley and tune just to keep up with those of you with the A8/A10?

Well my car will be getting a handful mods over the winter. I’m very happy with the car and the potential, but I can’t wait for all the stars to be aligned to make a 10 sec pass. My 8 time slips are all over the place ranging from best at 11.24@126.05 - 11.56@123.

Well if the ZL1 isn't capable of a stock 10 second pass as I predicted it would, it will be interesting to see who can do it with the least amount of mods. I would be extremely disappointed and surprised if it isn't done completely stock, though.
I don't think I'll be able to do it with my loaded ZL1 and my heavy arse, but I think a much lighter driver and car should be able to sneak into the 10s

I truly feel a tune alone would net 10s.

I am very happy with my 11.10 but it did have a cai. Our best mph was 129 on a 11.16 run. Since then I have done pulley tune headers and throttle body. Have not ran it but t is a lot faster for sure.
