What you fail to realize is that was AMAZING coverage by the DB. He was covering him like a glove, in perfect position. I will disagree with you that it was pass interference, it wasn't defensive holding and it wasn't illegal contact.
The receiver tripped or lost his balance, and I didn't see any action by the DB to cause that. All the action that happened after he tripped doesn't matter for two reasons. One, it was incidental because the DB only "pushed" once the guy was stopping on the ground and the DB had momentum. Totally incidental to "push" to keep his balance after the receiver lost his balance. SECOND, and most importantly, well before then, the QB had left the pocket and any contact like that can be overlooked. However, even if the QB was still in the pocket, this would have just been amazing coverage, and nothing else. You are simply wrong about this...I suggest you move on at this point. No sense whining about a call that most neutral people see as the correct call...especially since you are incorrect about it.

The only thing the QB being outside the box does for a defensive back is allow him to tackle the QB like a running back. It doesn't allow him to hold and impede a receiver in the end zone. Your making up something without knowing the rules. ![]() If you want to deny Mills had his hands on Jones past 5 yards of the line of scrimmage...the video proves that wrong. If you want to deny he straddled him, and pushed him to the ground with his hands....the video proves otherwise. I posted the rules. You don't know them. You see only what you want to see. You say a DB can do whatever he wants if the QB is outside the pocket. What a joke! I see the truth. It's confirmed by the rules and the video.......period.

"Beyond the five-yard zone, if the player who receives the snap remains in the pocket with the ball, a defender cannot initiate contact with a receiver who is attempting to evade him. A defender may use his hands or arms only to defend or protect himself against impending contact caused by a receiver."
I suggest you read that in full. I think you may be missing the part which says "if the player who receives the snap remains in the pocket". Maybe read the rest of the rulebook so you understand it as well, because it's not doing you any good to keep "quoting the rules" when you don't even know them. Heck, if you paid attention to a few plays that happened this season, you'd also know that rule...because it's been discussed a bit.

Your suggesting that once the QB is outside the pocket..anything goes for the DB's.....Show me where it says that in the rules? It doesn't. It's just something you have made up. The rules for holding or illegal contact don't change. You don't have a clue.

Actually, I did show you "in the rules" where it says that. I got that rule from the NFL website with the rulebook. As I said, it's been discussed a few times this year because other DB's besides Richard Sherman are doing it. It's little known because of how it's phrased in the rulebook as I pointed out above. And what it means is that as soon as the QB is outside of the pocket, receivers can be treated as blockers and pushed, ridden to the ground and treated as such. Not many DB's have been doing it....however more have started doing so this year.
Richard Sherman, and other Seattle DB's have been doing it for a few years now....and I assure you, it has been quite legal.

And, just a FYI...this was when I first found out about that rule. Rogers had left the pocket and Browner delivered a far more violent blow to Greg Jennings. I can't remember if a penalty was actually issued to either player...however the initial hit was quite legal because the QB was out of the pocket in this case (and the Falcon's case too).

Great game by the Jags. Good try by the Steelers to come back.

Figured the Jags would win this one. I think they will beat the Patriots next week. Toughest defense, in my opinion, in the AFC.

The jags will win, but the Steelers beat themaelvea. Horrible play calling all throughout the game. But give mad props to the jags. They won when most thought the wouldn't

Ryan is not outside the pocket here until AFTER Jones is ridden like a horse to the ground. I suppose you can't see this either. even though the hash marks shows it perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=iOBo05QCgvk

That didn’t happen in the atl game either. No matter how many times you post a clip. It just proves it didn’t happen.

Either way, you are wrong on this. It was a good no-call, and you have made absolutely no case to show that it was a penalty in any way.
