Sure Jeff, please PM me. I have liked HPS on the Z.

Does pad swapping back/forth within the same family of pads concept (for easier bedding) apply for Hawk i.e. HP+ (road race) and HPS (autoX)?

We did the double double of BS and CAMC this weekend at the TX champ tour. I won BS and Jerry Centanni won CAMC. Course had lots of slow slalom stuff, so I was happy to be 16th in PAX and highest placed wide car :P
We were running the 295/305 19" SC3's. They really don't seem to be happy with blended inputs. Might need to give something else a try.

Agreed. I had designs on going down to run in that event, but wasn't able to make it work out this year. Honestly, that course layout makes me less sad that I couldn't make it.

Thanks guys - trying to get as much as I can out of it and loving every minute of driving it. Those neverending slaloms were painful, but I guess it's all that could be done without having folks dump off the side of the road course down the straight? Roger Johnson did them, so no lack of course design pedigree.

It's funny how videos in these cars never really look all that smooth. Super easy to spot areas that could have been better. In the old STI, some vids just looked like magic though I knew where I could have done better. This thing makes everyone look a bit abrupt and jerky.

I love me a never ending slalom! Not a joke, have had too much practice on them at our local runway venue.

Great day at the autocross. Camaro was fun as usual. 2nd in X, 4th in PAX, and still faster than CAM It still likes very ginger throttle application to get everything out of it, so time to start working on the setup. Couple ideas are to try setting the shocks to sport to get faster weight transfer, switching to a rear bar that has poly bushings, disconnecting the rear bar altogether, and maybe even trying to see if I can get it to work in a PTM mode (which is highly unlikely to be faster). If none of this works, I guess I'll have to keep trying to learn how to ramp the skinny pedal up to just before the limit more reliably.

Also considering toying with rear camber, wish that could be done more easily at the event...

Got an event in cool, slimy, sort of drying conditions this weekend. Also was my first event on RE71R's from Apexit53. Finished 14th in PAX, significantly down from usual. Ran track mode, all off, tried shocks in both tour and sport. Forward bite was junk unless going dead straight, but grip in general was pretty low. Is there a setting that makes the car work reasonably well for conditions like this? Seems the diff's on-throttle behavior is really exacerbated in bad conditions. Guys on Yokohamas were lighting folks up.

SS 1LE
Front 285/35R19 at 28PSI, 2.6 camber, 0 toe
rear 305/30R19 at 26PSI, 1.8 camber, 1/16" toe in total
Stock bars

honestly looks like you were drivng my car lol. Looked very similar to my videos with the rear end wanting to come out. Maybe we are running too low of PSi but also when its that cold there isnt a whole lot you can do. If you flipped them and were able to run on a fresh shoulder id bet you be in a litter better shape.

Front bar should also help

My logic in car competitiveness is telling me that a set of 18's with yoks will be good enough to compete effectively in CAMC with no other mods. Maybe even just 18's in the rear and leave the 19's up front with some other tire. Just seems forward bite is the only thing holding this car back, at least on low to medium grip surfaces. Really looking forward to some real big tire testing comparisons between the Yoks and the Falkens.

On our high-grip local lot, I'm able to use full throttle in 1st year on 315 Yoks. They are stellar in the cold/wet. I think camber plates and maybe a swaybar is all you need to compete in CAM at most events.

I'd probably wait until the last minute, if possible, to order wheels/tires for next year. The Nankang CR-1 might have a 305/30-19 out by Feb or so. (making them street-class legal)
